I write to you today in a total state. My hangover from Saturday has still yet to subside fully; it's been a torrid recovery period. Facing mind-numbing work in the week leading up to the start of University, I have instead turned my attention to digging out the best in EDM for all you lucky people this week. Unfortunately, a side effect of the new University term is my distinct lack of time and energy, as I am currently involved in about 234234 different activities. This means that some weeks I'll be writing reams of wonderful descriptive prose about my [...]

After a week of holiday, I find myself back in the normal routine. Working, spending, sleeping, eating etc. More interestingly, I've also been preparing for the new University term to start, sorting out leaflets and promo material for UpBeat, the University of Plymouth DJ Society of which I am President. I'm going into my final year, so my degree is going to be hard work, but I now know that blogs like this are invaluable experience for my writing, which is what I would like to do as a career. [...]

Today, I write to you in a travel weary and fatigued state. Dragged out of bed at 6am to catch a flight home, the weather isn't amazing back here in the UK. Below is a snap from my travels in the South of France, what I'm leaving behind for the grey lacklustre skies of Britain! However, I have spent the week compiling one of the best issues of 'Jack'ed In' yet! Beautiful This week sees the introduction of a brand new category; the Musicbud Presents track. [...]

I write this weeks dosage of bass injected music from quite luxurious surroundings. I'm currently sat by the pool in the South of France, enjoying the blistering heat and attempting to tan my pale complexion, with limited success. Here's what I've been getting up to in the day time (I'm on the far right): Un grande biere s'il vous plait However, just because I am on holiday does not mean I haven't been hunting down the very freshest beats for your listening pleasure. This week has [...]

Hello fellow music lovers, how are we all feeling this week? Mondays have always been a chore for me, but these days I look forward to it as the start of a week filled with deadlines and music hunts. It also brings me one step closer to the start of the new University term! I hope to brighten your Mondays up too, if you have any tracks you feel should be featured then please do get in touch, via the following mediums: Twitter [...]

This week sees the latest addition to the tragic '27' club, as Amy Winehouse sadly passed away. Now many will abhor her wild lifestyle; her dangerous drug fuelled binges and her self-destructive nature, but one cannot deny that the woman had pure talent. And although she had a largely distasteful personality (in my opinion at least), it is a tragedy in itself that a life has been lost; let alone the misfortune of losing such a musical talent. In more cheerful news, this week has been brilliant for finding new music. I've had some great submissions to my [...]

Yet another week goes past, and yet more musical delights for you all to behold. Not much has happened this week, everything is being planned for heading back to University in September. 'UpBeat', the Plymouth DJ Society of which I am President have some large events planned, with some big names coming down to play. With this in mind, I'll give you some tracks that reflect my positive anticipation for exciting times ahead. Also in the news this week, incredibly talented Swedish DJ/Producer Avicii is about to enter a furious legal battle against Simon Cowell, due to Leona [...]

Echoes Alike – Moon Monster This EP is not usually my thing, but I for one will be looking out for more downbeat electronica; and this is largely down to the perfectly produced EP from Echoes Alike. Timothy Shrider is the brain behind this alter ego, and Echoes Alike is the product of years of honing his compositional talents and production skills. The result in this instance is an EP filled with many level of avid melodies over growling gritty bass, coupled with clean and crisp production so that every note, every nuance is heard with [...]

This week has been a fairly relaxed one, I've found my time divided between welcoming back a tanned girlfriend from holiday (incredibly jealous as I remain hideously pale), working (selling pizzas, it's a glamorous life) and playing football (with a lot of enthusiasm but not much comparable skill). Aside from all that, there have been some interesting developments in the musical world that have caught my attention, and I wilsl delight in sharing with you lovely people. Track Of The Week: Far Too Loud – Wake [...]

Included will be electro, dubstep, drum & bass, house, and almost every other genre of electronic music that enters my ever alert radar! First I'll introduce myself before you ask 'Who the hell is this guy?!'. My name is Jack-William Cantwell and I'm a DJ/Producer from England.
