Yesterday the Rockerfeller Christmas tree was lit up, last weekend people flocked to malls trying to grab up gifts for their beloved, and we are firmly entrenched in yet another holiday season. At this point I'm sure you're being inundated with holiday music whether in the car or in the mall or wherever, but I am here to tell you that not all of it is the unbearable garbage they shill on most of those stations, some of it is truly enjoyable and will only make this season better for you! Remember good music soothes even the most savage of [...]

From Rap Radar : " We're still celebratin' the King. This is the best tune off his finest posthumous release that I've heard thus far. Stevie Wonder wrote the following and how it didn't end up being on an Michael Jackson album before is beyond me. If you don't like this one, get the f-ck off my site and don't you ever come back ." You know me : I co-sign this 1000 - GET AT THIS!!!! Jackson 5 - "Buttercup" (written [...]

Let's start November right. Heck yes. ~~~~~ Celebrities celebrate as well. Octo-Mom. Gross. Jon Gosselin. Seriously? Christina Aguilera. Um. Brad Pitt. Dig this terrific remix of the Jackson Five classic "The Love You Save" from NYC's Lower East Side duo The Knocks , who have given their fresh treatment to songs by The Killers, Peter Bjorn & John, and Passion Pit. I always find the Jacksons eminently remixable (DJ Z-Trip did my favorite ever , but this is also close). Their songs were so laden with strong foundational elements that can be teased out to the front in myriad different ways. Enjoy this for your Hump Day. Holy heck. [...]

The above is a clip of a comedy sketch call "The Jackson Jive" from a reunion special for Australian comedy show, Hey Hey It's Saturday . And here's an (attempted) justification for this absolute f-ckery from Australian culture & lifestyle blog, Pedestrian News : " We'll ignore the fact that it's way too soon for Michael Jackson parodies and jump into Harry Connick Jr 's main gripe - the use of "blackface". Now blackface might appear silly or innocuous to Australians but for 180 years it was the theatrical makeup used to establish [...]

As the marketing-palooza that is the forthcoming Michael Jackson film (and accompany soundtrack ) known as This Is It begins to kick into high gear, we're finally beginning to reap the benefits of previews... and leaks. Today, on this 11th of October in the year 2009, the never before heard title track for the forthcoming film/soundtrack has officially been unveiled. The track, which is reportedly one of over 100 unreleased songs that will surely be released in the months and years ahead, is a rather emotional and beautiful ballad, reminiscent of [...]

Filed under: News Harry Connick Jr . could have been forgiven for thinking appearing on the talent section of Australian TV show 'Hey Hey It's Saturday' would be a harmless affair -- perhaps a little teeth-grinding over some off-key singing, but nothing more serious than that. Connick Jr., however, then had to sit through a performance by Jackson 5 tribute Jackson Jive, featuring a quintet of Aussie blokes wearing afro wigs and a Michael Jackson impersonator too -- and blacked up to complete the look. [...]

I don't know about the rest of the world, but for me it's just sinking in that Michael Jackson is actually gone. It has made me want to listen to every "I Want You Back" remix I have. If any other people are suffering from a post-Michael blues, here are some of my favorites including a new one by Dmitri From Paris who turns it into a 6 minute funk adventure. All are a worthy dedication to one of the most interesting people in the history of the world. Download audio file (02-I-Want-You-Back-Z-Trip-Rem ix.mp3) [...]
If there had to be one positive that emerged from the death of Michael Jackson, it'd have to be the musical swelling in the weeks after his sudden passing. And yet another bright light shines through as previously unreleased Jackson 5 material is being removed from the vault for all the world to hear. According to NME , I Want You Back! Here's a slew of new remixes that were either crammed into our uber-stuffed in-box or caught our attention via some other corner of the World Wide Web. Enjoy!! Beyonce "Ego (The Twins Remix)": You may remember The Twins from their twinkly keyboard-decorated re-haul of Drake's "Best I Ever Had" that premiered a while back. On their latest hot-like-fire project, they completely strip away the old-school R&B influence of Beyonce's "Ego" , giving the double entendre-laced ditty a Timbaland-like futuro-club sheen complete with hard knocking drums, synth sine [...]
