FULL MUFF DISCO This rough disco moneyshot appeared on the LCD Soundsytem Fabric mix and the Clone Classic Cuts compilation (where you can buy it for legals)Woop. Keep your ears peeled for the sexy little string/synth riff. Probably theme tune to a grotty blaxploitation porn flick where all the chicks have growlers like Chewbacca. 01 I Feel Good, Put Your Pants On - Jackson Jones by paulyghost

I see her everey morning in the [...]

For ten years now, Galapagos4 has been the most respected and notorious independent underground hip hop label around, redefining the genre and setting standards throughout the city of Chicago. Known for experimental production and top-knotch lyricism, it's a more cerebral craft to these guys than other contemporary heavyweights in the industry, and this week we can celebrate their decade long footprint in the windy city scene. what : Galapagos4 10th Anniversary Party [ tickets ] when : Saturday, June 6th where : Reggies [...]

Ho hum. I saw the Soulwax doco last week and funnily enough it's inspired me to get back into LCD Soundsystem more than anything. James Murphy spends about as much time on camera as any of the Soulwax guys... Though I'm not complaining. It's also got me thrashing some other DFA stuff. They really have the most killer little music corner to themselves. I snagged James Murphy & Pat Mahoney's Fabriclive disc today and it's really as fantastic as I expected! Have a taste of a couple of tunes that feature in the mix... [...]

Jackson jones - I Feel Good Put Your Pants On (Pilooski Edit) 2007 was a big, big year for Parisian Pilooski , apart from a string of choice and very limited edits on the Dirty Edits series, masses of remix work and some original productions, he also had the biggest edit crossover smash of the year in the form of Frankie Valli's Beggin' You , which we posted way back in January, and which went on to chart over the Summer, made numerous TV appearances, was [...]
Wu-Tang Clan "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' To Fuck With" (Bird Peterson Remix) - Bird Peterson's remix of the Wu-Tang classic is all blunt force, bludgeoning the listener with quick, violent bursts of words from the RZA's verse and a dynamic, heavy beat that comes closer to the Jock Jams aesthetic than anything from Enter The Wu-Tang . Peterson essentially throws all subtlety out the window and turns the song into four straight minutes of intense, super-concentrated belligerence and deranged swagger. ( Click here for Bird Peterson's MySpace page.) [...]

Hooray for Pilooski and hooray for D*I*R*T*Y. They've been getting big ups ever since I first heard Pilooski's edit of Frankie Valli's "Beggin" and now two new beachside bangers from the Man, Cédric Marszewski. The first, a remix of Jackson Jones off the forthcoming installment in the righteous Dirty Edits series (always quality, tasteful edits of soulful old n golden jams). The second is an original, his first since A Peu Prais. This new track, out on Benjamin Diamond's Diamond Traxx label, is really something, warm and stuttering, a beat mashed r&b foot stomper for dusty gramophones wired thru [...]
Jackson Jones - I Feel Good Put Your Pants On (pilooski edit) Hurrah! Another 12" of D*I*R*T*Y edits is upon us. This is an obscure Caribbean something that I don't quite know how to describe.. a sort of slow burning, sexy disco thing that doesn't stick to any genre-fications that I can readily call to mind... in the interest of having something interesting to say about Jackson Jones, I've googled and googled to little effect, so if anyone else out there can shed any light on this mystery man and his music, we'd [...]
