As soon as it became clear to me that Jacques Greene and How To Dress Well did a collaboration, I knew it would be perfect. Altough Jacques Greene is from Canada, his music really has a London-feeling. His productions truly have the UK two-step feeling, and definitely make you feel like dancing. Less cheery and danceable is How To Dress Well's music. His music is – despite his small underground success & It Was U – melancholic, heavy and fragile. The music HTDW composes is inspired by grief. But [...]

O single [...]

Photo by Bebe Besch Freshly signed to Sub Pop, Rose Windows have wasted no time making gentle waves with their "hard-hitting hippie" style of psychedelic Sabbath-influenced rock. "Wartime Lovers" is a tambourine tangled track with harmonies that swirl and captivated to boot - singer Rabia's deep and melodic voice soothes while stirring distant collective memories of stormy desert plains as much as thick Edenic forests.[ Spin ] Today brings news of a bonus track from Daft Punk [...]

How To Dress Well 's Total Loss still stands as my favorite album of 2012, so whenever any new piece of music comes out with Tom Krell's name attached you can bet that my eyes light up like a kid in a candy store. I was particularly excited to hear about his recent pairing with dance music mastermind Jacques Greene on "On Your Side." Though the track takes Krell a bit out of his comfort zone, Jacques' delightful uptempo garage house beats and How To Dress Well's luscious R&B falsetto fit together [...]

If you're "looking for a straightforward sign" that Jacques Greene can, and will, go bigger, let this be that sign. 'On Your Side' is taken from a new EP out on LuckyMe, 3rd June. With the lead track, Tom Krell aka. How To Dress Well lends his customary croon to proceedings, Jacques Greene applying dancehall atmospherics to an uptempo pulse. There's a ton of stuff going on here, but your focus rarely wanders off from Krell's vocals, which sound remarkably at home in this new, hyped-up environment. Stream Jacques Greene and [...]
This past weekend, I was gracing the UK seaside town of Brighton for The Great Escape. I spent most of the weekend checking out acts for my dayjob as well as stumbling into the closest venues for a music fix. I did have a shortlist of acts that I was desperate to see and one of those features on this Jacques Greene track. How To Dress Well performed a beautiully haunting and emotionally charged set which warmed my ice cold heart. On this track HTDW joins Montreal producer Jacques Greene for a mix of House and R&B which all the [...]

Jacques Greene and How To Dress Well join forces to prove there's still life left in the future garage revival with new track 'On Your Side'. The Montreal producer will release a new EP next month and the titular track features falsetto vocals from Tom Krell. The pairings love for house music and R&B respectively is the song's foundation with sampled 'yeahs' running throughout alongside an ever rising bass drum loop. On Your Side EP is [...]
We're glad to hear Jacques Greene back in our ears, and having How To Dress Well tag along with him is an added bonus. On new tune On Your Side, Greene brings the production, slow, swung drums and astral keys, and HTDW brings the sumptuous vocals:

Next month, Montreal producer/multi-instrumentalist Jacques Greene will drop his new EP, On Your Side . You've already heard the elastic "Quicksand" , and now Greene has leaked the title track, which features guest vocals from Tom Krell (aka How To Dress Well ). The track wraps Krell's intimate and conversational vocals around throbbing stop-start beats, half-buried synth lines, and subtle vocal samples that wouldn't feel out of place getting spins on some chrome-plated dance floor in the not-too-distant future. The On Your Side [...]
Thanks to trails blazed by folks like The Weeknd and James Blake , we've been able to witness the onslaught of electronic R&B (or label it how you will) which in turn has created huge entry points for artists like the falsetto singer/producer Tom Krell (a.k.a. How To Dress Well ) and Canadian producer Jacques Greene . "On Your Side" features what each does best: Krell employs the upper registers of his vocal range while Greene provides a pulsating backbone upon which Krell's lyricism undulates frenetically upon. The match is lethal. While this version [...]
It isn't very surprising that Tom Krell's voice sounds great when set to a house beat, especially when its as infectious as what Montreal's Jacques Greene has prepared for him. Above you can listen to the radio edit of the How To Dress Well -assisted "On Your Side," premiered earlier today by BBC Radio 1 jockey and modern-day superhero Zane Lowe. The "One Your Side" EP will include a longer version of the titular track and should be out digitally on June 3rd. Read more articles like " Jacques Greene [...]
