In proper form, Jacques Greene let loose "Quicksand", one of the standout exclusives from his recent FADER Mix . Greene finds a suitable middle ground between his impossibly smooth work (usually released on his own label Vase) and his more hard-edged productions (often released on Martyn's 3024) on "Quicksand" and the result is as indulgent as ever. Like the best house music, the kickdrum is the heartbeat of the song and Greene's masterfully yearning sample leads the listener along the path to ultimate fulfillment. "Quicksand" doesn't have a release date yet, but we're waiting on the edge of our seat [...]

Here's a new track from Canadian house producer Jacques Greene. It's called Quicksand and it's surprisingly sunny and weightless compared to the producer's recent more nocturnal-leaning Ready and Concealer releases. No word on when or where this single (or whatever it might be from) is getting an official release. Check out the track below.

By NASA Basically it's another hit off of Jacques Greene's Fader mix . First it was the offensively attractive "Paris Dub 13 by Paranoid London , which made it well into my Best of 2012 , now it's a new one from the man himself. "Quicksand" has shades of his 2011 instant-classic " Another Girl " in there, for sure. - Follow Jacques Greene: Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud
As heard in his exclusive mix for the Fader, Jacques Greene has decided to share with his fans his brand-new original called "Quicksand!"

Everyone knows that it takes more than just talent to blow up. There's also usually a running man dance of branding, co-signs, and savvy management who guides artists to the top. Pure luck matters too. Until Drake flashed the YOLO signal for the Weeknd, the latter was just another anonymous MDMA-mangled R&B singer. Frank Ocean couldn't get Def Jam to notice him until Tyler, the Creator (or said savvy management) did first. That's not to slight their obviously unique perspectives or writing, but rather to help explain why they emerged as the R&B choice of people who don't know from [...]

In less than two years, Jacques Greene has given the current musical landscape a deeper understanding of what house music can be. Hailing from Montreal, 21-year-old Greene has produced a slew of remixes and original releases that have garnered him international attention and much critical acclaim. After a grueling tour schedule, which included stops at such major festivals as Sonar, MUTEK, and the Bloc Weekender, Greene is coming back to Canada on January 24 to play Vancouver's Fortune Sound Club. Joining Greene will be Winnie's newest contributor [...]

by Andrew Sacher Jacques Renault Pitchfork posted a story yesterday on The New Electronic Brooklyn Underground , where they highlighted the thriving dance parties, labels, and producers that have been coming up in Brooklyn for a few years now and have been experiencing even greater success lately. Some of what they highlighted, like record label UNO and especially their artist Mykki Blanco , have been working their [...]

We've had this on repeat in the BBB office for the last few days, and have now finally found a bit of time to share our latest find. Jacques Greene is one of those electronic artists that has music at the core of everything he does, and while his tracks are very much club relevant you never get the feeling that is their soul purpose. You only have to see the palpable euphoria that 'Arrows' causes to know that subtlety and musical dexterity can often out weigh even the heaviest kick drum. [...]

While marc is trying to reassure everyone that Sampha is not breaking up with SBTRKT, I'm here to hurt your little hearts again! Short Stories is made up of our boy Sampha and Koreless (you might recognize him from collabs with Jacques Greene). Anyways, that was then and Short Stories is now. "On the Way" is the second track we're hearing from the power duo, listen to the prior release "Let It Go," below. Judging from these two outputs, I'd say the pair is definitely on to something-and I am just so happy to [...]
