The press release accompanying James Holden ’s long-waited sophomore record, The Inheritors , is hyperbolic to say the least. It proclaims the 34-year old Devon born man as an “unparalleled” producer who has “woven a rich aural tapestry” with this album and that “nobody is making electronic music as explorative” as Holden - and that’s just the opening paragraph. Renata es el single que presenta The Inhertiors, que sale a la luz este mes, y es otro ejemplo más de lo que su precoz talento y su cabeza puede dar de sí.

De vrijdagmiddagplaat van deze week is een flinke remix van de tweede single van James Holden's aankomende album The Inheritors. Flink, want Daphni aka Dan Snaith aka (frontman van) Caribou heeft Renata goed onder handen genomen. Het is een geheel ander nummer geworden, maar het resultaat is er niet minder om. Daphni heeft er een heel speels geheel van gemaakt met rare stemmen, een vrolijke beat en nep-eindes. Njoy!

Alongside the release of James Holden 's new LP The Inheritors , multifaceted musician and producer Dan Snaith (more commonly known as Caribou and Daphni ) has added his own remix of 'Renata'. The looped out, minimalist version from Snaith runs nearly seven-and-a-half minutes long. 'Renata' is all glistening synths, building a wall of sound with arpeggiated chords expanding in volume and syncopation. 'Renata' clocks in at six minutes, every second engaging.
