Electronic music is designed for use by DJ's. For this reason, electronic releases tend to be singles rather than full albums: for better or for worse. Full cohesive electronic albums are rare and special things. The format of an album supports so much more artistry and creative capacity than singles and EP's ever will. Yet electronic genres like House and Techno are so dominated by singles and EP's. I see a trend emerging; songs which have real lasting power come from brilliant full-length releases. For me, albums like Justice's Cross , Digitalism's Idealism and Daft Punk's [...]

This track was released like a year ago but that doesn't change the fact that it's groovy as fuck! now does it? Jan Driver is a producer that knows exactly how to make the people get groovin', not to mention the name of this track is awesome! Buy track here . Jan Driver - Hornetbeef (Original Mix)

Take: 2cl Gin, 6cl Tonic Water, ice cubes and a squeeze of lemon. Et voilà! You have the perfect party drink for this saturday night...Gin Tonic! It fits just right to the main electro act of this weeks FUCK OFF event at Gretchen . There is talk of nobody else but Gtronic , one of the titans among the electro-producers. Since 2007 he is creating his so called Heavy Bass Trash that make you feel his enthusiasm about the dark rough electro scene. He is not just dropping some of the most original tracks [...]

Theoretisch müsste ich, wenn man sich die Überschrift anguckt, nicht mehr viel sagen. Da das so aber bei uns nicht läuft, versuche ich mit dem folgenden Worten auch den letzten Skeptiker zu überzeugen. ...

Breakfastklub dropped their second EP on Dusted Decks Records and also celebrate their sixth birthday! "Action, Bitch!" is a electro-house-rave-break-packa ge and comes with three remixes! Remixed by the fabulous Jan Driver, Slap In The Bass and Jeff Doubleu! My first feedback was " Quality release! Original and Jan Driver are dope! Slap in the base too! love! " and that's it! Enjoy! I have no idea what these women are singing about but I like the beats and more so I like the people remixing their tracks (Jan Driver & Siriusmo). Sometimes my Anglo friends play songs in Spanish for me thinking it's the new hot shit, but when I tell them what the lyrics say they realize only half of the song's elements are good. Not sure if that's the case with Laing . Either way I felt we needed some signs of estrogen on this blog and Laing fits the bill. They kind of remind me of [...]

Here is a compilation of tracks that I've been listening to alot and playing in my sets over the last month or so. Enjoy! This first track is just some pure distorted electro. Not a lot of this being made anymore, I definitely miss it. I Need - The Loops of Fury After playing the "Bassmentality" party in Toronto a few times over the summer, this track definitely has a special place in my heart. Bassmentality (Original Mix) - [...]

What's good everyone? Hope you all had a good start to your weekend. I'm still pretty wiped out from seeing Deadmau5 at Metropolis last night, and I know anyone who was there with me can sympathize. As expected, Metropolis was packed to the gills with rabid fans and more than a few homemade mau5heads. Both Zedd and Excision got the crowd warmed up with high-energy sets, and the momentum carried over all the way though Mr. Mau52s 2 hour performance. All in all it was a fun night, but as a result I'm lacking the motivation to write a lot [...]

One of the biggest (and perhaps least touted) perks of writing for a sick-ass music blog is hearing about new music you might not otherwise have stumbled upon from your colleagues (should I instead refer to them as something more casual, like my "homeslices" or "bronuggets"? "Colleagues" feels odd). Anyway, one such discovery for me was Jan Driver . Post-Electric-Zoo, it was sort of difficult to expand back into musical discovery, since all I wanted to do was relive that magic, but Jan Driver allowed me to transition into being a real human again. I think one reason for [...]

Olle and Stefan are feeling extra happy this month so they decided to put together a violent, jump-up and rage September mix. The mix features a selection of the biggest tracks year to date with standouts like "Raveyard" and "Menage A Trois". Play close attention to their new remix of Afrojack & R3hab's "Prutataaa", this song goes extra hard. Dada Life - September 2011 Mix ________________ Tracklist 01. I know I'm little late with this but due to the work for the blog update it was impossible. Jan's first LP released at the 5th September! To discribe it, I only need to say one word: brilliant ! For me he is the new drum-maestro! He really knkows how to insert some really cool live drums and build it to a really unique sound! "20133, "Empathy", "Raveyard" just to name a few of my favourites! Jan Driver has been releasing music since 1993, ehh what ? [...]

Five years after storming onto the indie dance-rap stratosphere with Yoyoyoyoyo, Naeem Juwan, aka Spank Rock , returns with the equally amazing titled sophomore LP 'Everything Is Boring and Everyone Is a Fucking Liar.'

Happy Friday everyone. As strange as it seems, classes began this week and put an official end to the summer. It's a strange feeling knowing I'm about to enter my last year of undergrad, and although there are certainly much better and exciting things I could be doing with my time, classes always afford me the perfect opportunity to search for new music. I came across some gems this week from Feed Me, Foamo, Designer Drugs, Fake Blood and a few others. Hope you enjoy. Fall is officially here, and what better way to kick it off than [...]

Tiga and Zombie Nation are back again with another ZZT release. Vulkin Alarm definitely isn't as big as ZZafrika with there being a 2 year wait on that one, but it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Jan Driver twists and warps the track just enough with some hard bass and kicks to really be awesome. I've been hooked on his old remix (and pretty much everything else he does) of Coburn's We Re-Interrupt This Programme . Anyway, the duo have said that an album is already completed called Partys Over Earth . I wouldn't [...]
