Japandroids have been trying out some new tracks on the road and today we get to see one courtesy of some live footage. The energetic performance is a catchy number that gives us a nice preview of what might be coming from the band in the future. It's been a few years since we got their Post-Nothing . Check it out at the top courtesy of our friends over at One Thirty BPM .

Photo by Ted Maider Following "Adrenaline Nightshift" , Japandroids return with another new track in "Fire's Highway". A high-energy blast of the pair's standard noise rock, this number's particularly anthemic (which is saying oodles when it comes to these two). Check out a performance of the song from the band's September 21st gig as part of the Pop Montreal fest below (via Prefix ).
Vancouver fuzz-rock duo Japandroids may just have a fistful of new songs. Earlier this month, we posted live footage of them playing the new track "Adrenaline Nightshift." And at the Pop Montreal festival last week, they also busted out the energetic new one "Fire's Highway," which has some great whoa-oaaaah action. Watch the video below. Read More...

Sorry for the delay because I was internet-less during my time at Pop Montreal 2011 . After attending the Opening party / Fashion Pop! . The only show I went on the first night was at Le Divan Orange. Definitely one of the "it" shows on the first night of the festival. A friend convinced me otherwise to check this out because Japandroids were going to preview new tracks on an upcoming album. Felt like deja-vu again since it was two years ago that I saw Japandroids play that same venue. [...]

by teepoo Why haven't I posted about Japandroids in a while? There's so much Canadian music out there it's hard to keep track of it all! Back in July, Polyvinyl released a 73 single with punk infused Younger Us which is more "emo" than anything on their previous release Post Nothing . Japandroids- Younger Us OFFICIAL WEBSITE
Nerve Jamming , the first song on Bass Drum of Death's debut album, hits you in the face. The band - just two guys from Mississippi - doesn't back down either. Every song on GB City is a scorcher. Think of White Stripes or Black Keys at their most raucous points. Like Death from Above 1979 or Japandroids , Bass Drum of Death shows how much sound one guy on guitar and another on drums can [...]
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive Roger Kisby, Getty Images Japandroids kicked off the 10th annual POP Montreal music festival Sept. 21 with a sold-out show filled with fans eager to hear new material from the buzz band. The Vancouver duo -- always hell-bent on filling the room with as much noise as humanly possible -- greeted the crowd gathered at the Divan Orange with a bold call to arms, [...]

(credit to venueszine for the picture) Living in central Illinois, there's not much going on in the cultural landscape that's worth mentioning, but Polyvinyl Records in Champaign / Urbana, IL has been a beacon of excellence since their inception as a fan-zine in 1995. This weekend, Polyvinyl is celebrating it's 15th anniversary with a huge concert on the closing day of Pygmalion Festival with a bunch of artists from their roster (including Braid, Japandroids, STRFKR, Asobi Seksu, Deerhoof, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and more). In honor of the [...]

To commemorate their 15th anniversary, Polyvinyl Records is giving away a free sampler album. The free 30-track sampler download includes current and past artists signed to the label. Among the artists featured are Deerhoof , Xiu Xiu , Of Montreal , and Japandroids . Downlaod the sampler here . Check out the track listing below.
Official Website | Myspace | Facebook | Twitter Pop Montreal is a decade old. I was there at the beginning back in 2002. I have fond memories of seeing those black-clad New Yorkers Interpol playing their first show in our fair city at the now closed Jupiter Room. The place was PACKED. People standing on furniture just to get [...]

Photos by G. Brian King of Japandroids Sometimes my criteria for seeing bands is a little off kilter. In the case of Japandroids , I loved their band name the first time I heard it. Although they've been around for several years, when the Canadian duo walked on stage for the first time at their sold out show at Mercury Lounge in New York on September 14, 2011, it was the first time I ever heard their music. From the second they hit the stage, [...]
File this under, "fuck yeah!" Japandroids are playing Halifax. The Vancouver two-piece delivered one of the best records of 2009 , and followed it up with a series of 73 that cemented the fact they are so bad ass that Shotgun Jimmy would be afraid to hold hands with them. Rumor has it that they are back in the studio soon, so this show might just be a sneak peak at the new material. So here are the details: Japandroids are playing on Sept 17th @ [...]

I know I haven't had a New Music Tuesday in forever, but (a) the blog has been on hiatus due to vacations and a lack of power at my house from a hurricane (in inland New Jersey!), (b) I've had an ongoing foot problem that has otherwised occupied my time and (c) I haven't actually listened to much new music in a while because I haven't had time to due to (a) & (b). I'd say the only new album I've listened to the last month is Beirut 's brilliant The Rip Tide , for which I share [...]

It's been a second since we heard anything new from these dudes, but last night, punk pop standouts Japandroids debuted a new song called "Adrenaline Nightshift" in Dallas. Check it the uptempo ripper below. Read More...

To say Vancouver-based rock duo Japandroids are dedicated musicians would be a massive understatement. Following the release of the band's debut album Post-Nothing in 2009 and the compilation album No Singles last year, the duo have been relentlessly touring. As their tour schedule starts to wind down, it would make sense that the pair would be writing new music for their sophomore album, and that's exactly what they've been doing. While performing at the Bryan Street Tavern in Dallas, TX, the duo performed a new track titled "Adrenaline Nightshift," giving us a taste of [...]
