Although I was completely unaware of the upcoming movie They Die By Dawn before this morning, the title track from the soundtrack has certainly piqued my interest. The fittingly theatrical cut features two highly regarded emcees in Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) and Jay Electronica who help create a vivid musical trailer over a steadily building western-influenced instrumental. They Die By Dawn is set to be released later this year and its cast will include Michael K Williams and Erykah Badu among several other notable names. We're not terribly familiar with New Orleans rapper Ceto, but he's clearly got the right connections as he landed a Jay Electronica guest verse AND hook for this new track, "Hail Mary". Honestly, it's not the best we've heard from Jay Elec, but at least we know dude's working , right? I mean, these bars could be some cutting room floor stuff that somehow made their way to Ceto, though it seems likely he knows Jay considering they're both from NO. Either way, listen below.
