At the moment (adult beverage in hand), I am not feeling hip to new music (though I have become smitten with the Twilight Sad and still am devouring all things Menomena ). Rather, I went on the equivalent of a crate dig through my iTunes library to see what was hiding in there. There is no logical reason to why I am posting this song, no sense to it. One of the first supergroups I cared for, (other than the Travelling Wilburys) was Golden Smog. Members Gary Louris, Marc Perlman (The Jayhawks), Kraig Johnson (Run Westy Run), Dan Murphy (Soul Asylum) and Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) are all great musicians who I enjoy outside of this collaboration and in their other side projects as well. Golden Smog are back with their first release since 1998s Weird Tales. Here is a song from the upcoming album, "Another Fine Day", titled 5-22-02. The song is a pop gem for the guys in [...]
