Your love is like... Jazzanova - I Can See (Holy Ghost! Remix) MYSPACE

For the resources of nature and men's devices are just as fertile and productive as they were. The rate of our progress towards solving the material problems of life is not less rapid. We are as capable as before of affording for everyone a high standard of life—high, I mean, compared with, say, twenty years ago—and will soon learn to afford a standard higher still. We were not previously deceived. But to-day we have involved ourselves in a colossal muddle, having blundered in the control of a delicate machine, the working of which we do not understand. The result is [...]

I got the new Jazzanova album, Of All the Things a couple weeks ago from my good peoples at Giant Step and have been playing it pretty steadily since then. These dudes (from Germany, I believe) are not ground-breakers but what they do, they do very well. So well in fact that this might make it onto my year-end favorites list. If you f-ck with Gnarls Barkley , Solange , Little Brother ( Phonte guests on a couple tracks on the album) and other slightly left-of-center, throwback, downtempo and Okayplayer-friendly sounds, [...]

Deux côtés pour ce dimanche soir, un plutôt violent qui laisse des traces et l'autre tout doux où l'on peut se réfugier. 22 20's -devil in me- the rolling stones -cool, calm & collected- megapuss -a gun on his hip & a rose on his chest- noah & the whale -5 years time- jazzanova -lie feat.thief- sixto rodriguez -rich folk's hoax-

Great achievement by this now legendary indie label. Not many independents even make it past 2 releases let alone 200! This celebration release is compiled by Jazzanova but rather than produce an anthology that chronologised the history of the label from day one, they have simply picked, programmed and arranged their selection of their favourite releases from the label during the last 12 months. Thankfully 2008 has been one of the best years yet and this features tracks from Soulphiction, Recloose, Paul Bryan, The Black Seeds, Thief, Roland Appel and many other fine tracks from artists [...]

This is one of the best tracks (IMHO) from Jazzanova's recent release Of All The Things . Maybe I'm biased cos I also happen to love Ben Westbeech. In any case the song is lovely and the video provides suitable eye candy: And here's a bonus for ya. Ben's recent mixtape featuing lots of electro-y, break-y kinda choons. DOWNLOAD mixtape 1. The Thrill of it All (M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade Re-Work) -Roxy Music 2. Everybody Cha Cha - Soda Boys 3.

Net [...]

The wonderful Jazzanova are set to release a new album on October 21st - Of All The Things on Verve. It's set to be a hot one, featuring collaborations with Phonte, Ben Westbeech and more. Check the tracklist below. Props to Soulbounce's Butta who was amongst the first to get the word about this on Twitter. No props whatsoever to Verve for their absolute lack of promotion on this release. 01. Look What You're Doin' To Me (feat. Phonte) 02. Let Me Show Ya (feat. Paul Randolph) 03. I Can See (feat. Ben Westbeech) [...]

A couple new tracks posted at Nah Right. That Stat Quo sounds like a hit. Stat Quo - That's Me Jazzanova ft. Phonte -Look What You're Doin To Me PigeonsandPlanes

It's always great to just sit back and enjoy some chilled sounds every so often (as in, on a daily basis). To commemorate some memorable more instrumental and laid-back classics, here is a selection of instrumentals, dubs and straight-up relaxed sounds. First up are two captivating instrumental versions of some excellent tracks, the squelching electronic stylings of Róisín Murphy's "Overpowered" and the delicate strumming of Goldfrapp's subdued "Clowns." It's a testament to both artists' skill that the tracks are stunning even without their accompanying vocals. Jazzanova has been a favorite collective of mine for a few years now, releasing equally [...]

A three-way collaboration that is! Because... ah, fuck it. It's a cheap pun. But it's Monday, so I really don't know why you'd expect any better... Anyhoo, this is a three-country three-way, which makes it extra sexy. We got Jazzanova from Germany with Vikter Duplaix representin' Philly on vocals remixed by Broken Beat guru Domu of England. For some reason I always seem to think Domu is part of Bugz In The Attic, but he's not... aren't you glad I shared [...]

Hey guys. I know I haven't made a post in a while... Some of it's because I've been busy, some of it's because I'm just plain lazy. Anyway, I'm back, and this is the first post of a new feature called "Random Album I Just Bought". (Yeah, I'm obviously desperate for ideas) I'll be making posts about the last album I've purchased, whether it's complete crap or not. It should be interesting because you'll be seeing a lot of newer releases, along with some older stuff. [...]

A quick late nite update after long weekend. This is a soulfull list with uptempo DnB rythm, definitely non danceable. But it is flowing mood music, cosmopolitan and non intrusive. Imagine a summer night at 87th floor balcony watching city light flickers at the distance, a small glass of rum and coke to fill the night summer breeze. Maybe with somebody you enjoy talking to. Whatever it is, let's hope ezarchive will be back up soon so I can post regularly prepared playlist. Or you'll have to endure the full force of my musical whimp. (plus [...]
