It's Sunday, the sun has got his hat on, and I don't have a hangover. Rarer than hens teeth, this 12" is more sought after for the Jazztronik remix on the flip. For me though, it's Scuba which is pushing my sunshine Sunday buttons… *Image courtesy of Catching Magic

I've always said that the sound of summer is house, but a part of me is changing my mind. I'm realizing that jazz music might be the true summer sound. Just check out this Skream track I posted a little while back, for instance. I'm telling you all this because it looks like I've [...]
My friend Sean recently brought attention to a track that had Emi Meyer on it but it also had another vocalist's voice in the background. Turns out Jazztronik's original track, Rising In My Heart, has Yurai featured on it and Emi recently did a cover of the song for them for a compilation. I'm not sure if it was intentional to keep Yurai on the backdrop but either way it is a dope track. Jazztronik is Tokyo based Ryota Nozaki , a DJ/ producer/ etc. etc. He's got all things nu jazz mixed [...]

Hi everyone. Hopefully your summer has been filled with lots of partying, dancing and good times. Every now and again, I switch up my monthly mixes to introduce a new series and keep it fresh. Initially when I was brainstorming, I had planned to go a ll the way in on the old-school house music but as time passed and I started to play more songs, this expanded into a more mellow set of house, dance, electronica and some jazzier picks. I think they blend pretty well together. Plus [...]

Art by Mark Verhaagen First thing's first: There's some new Autokratz released right now. One of Kitsune's more recent additions, these guys have been putting out some insanely good stuff. The Headman remix that I got around to posting is still a firm favorite in my ipod, frequently looped to death wherever the jam might take me. They have the rough-around-the-edges electro flare to their sound that draws me right in, while still managing to make their songs more than just headbangers. It's the vocals. Along with one of the tracks off of [...]

Jazztronik - Rock With You A quick one here as I'm vaguely on the hoof today... this is a tastily dubbed out electro interpretation of the MJ classic by Japanese producer Nozaki Ryota , that our blogging buddy Cubik introduced me to a while back. I love the overall vibe of this, but at times I can't help but think its a bit let down by the keyboards... maybe slightly too stilted to do it proper justice? [...]

Return to basic list. I am trying to do series of smaller, more functional playlist, to change mood and to go around increasingly belligerent ezarchive. (gah!) First list, just to cheers Moka shiny new MdM section ( Electric Bungaloo ) is a hip-hop-electronica-near folks mix. Yes that is possible. Actually anything is possible while doing it half asleep. This Jazztronik track kind of struck me as "experimental acid jazz", which doesn't totally make sense, but I guess that's why I liked it. From the 2005 release Samurai. Jazztronik - Muddy Muddy This song by The Squire of Somerton...
Well sort of! Two great covers of classic Michael Jackson tunes for y'all here. Rock With You by Jazztronik. I have no idea where I got this tune and to be honest I can't recall ever hearing it before but as I worked in my garden today with my iPod on shuffle it came on and it (excuse the pun) rocked me. At first, after reading the title, I was unsure if it was a cover or not but then you start to hear subtle elements [...]
