Dilated Choonz are doing a big synth thingy of late. It got me thinking about Jean Michel Jarre. I first heard him in 1982 when listening to my Dad's copy of The Concerts in China. He probably best known for Oxygene Part IV but others may disagree. He certainly sounded different in the early days. 1972 POGO [...]
I dag ser man stadig [...]

New Age, New Rave, Next Wave, anyway, it's still whooshy synths to me. Jean-Michel Jarre - Equinoxe IV from The Concerts In China (out of print) Mandatory Christmas Content - R.I.P. I.K.E. , You Didn't Exactly Treat Her Right Ike & Tina Turner - Merry Christmas, Baby

Wow, been a busy few weeks, and I guess I haven't had a chance to do a meaty post here since the month began. I guess I'll lead with some Septemeber tuneage to celebrate the reopening of the blather, (even though technically we are now closer to the... visit for more mp3's & random revelations

Jean Michel Jarre: Equinoxe Part 5 [1978] Jean Michel Jarre: Equinoxe Part 6 [1978] Emmett directed me towards Jean Michel back in December . Since then I've listened to a few of his albums, but hadn't realized how huge he was until I read this Wikipedia post. Bastille Day, 1979. Place de la Concorde. 1 million electronic music fans. Sounds insane. I am tempted to post the whole album here, given that the album is meant to 'reflect a day in the life [...]

Interesting to read Simon Reynold's re-appraisal of the seventies 'cosmic' synth sound in yesterday's Observer Music Monthly. Not the sort of thing you might expect the Blissblogger to go public with, but still I bet most of my fellow contributors here have been touched by this particular branch of electronica at some point in their lives. Kek has his fondness for Tonto's Expanding Headband. No doubt Loki has taken the odd 'shroom assisted flight to a Tangerine Dream soundtrack. Perhaps the Doppleganger had a brief flirtation with that hairy Greek Vangelis is his youth. I've [...]

Google video on the way. We've had a very busy February, and we knew it would be. From Saturday's amazing Promise fund-raiser [ gallery here ] to events like Thunderdome 3 , featuring the sounds of Trouble n Bass , to Boston talents Hearthrob going to Montreal [ gallery here ] it was busy. Not to mention that [...]
