An admission - I've never heard Famous Blue Raincoat , Jennifer Warnes' highly regarded album of Leonard Cohen covers. Because I only know her from belting out Up Where We Belong and The Time of My Life I'm afraid she's always had a strong whiff of cheese to me. Hands down, the most-rerecorded song from the vast catalog of Canadian poet, novelist, and singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen is Hallelujah ; the newly-reposted MOKB Covers Project: Hallelujah counts over forty versions, and the list is by no means complete.
