Singer-songwriter Morgan Nagler got her project Whispertown off the ground oh-so-many years ago by rubbing elbows with a couple of other former child actors, Blake Sennett and Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley. And Friday night — on the occasion of her birthday as well as the release of Whispertown's new EP "Parallel" — the bonds that tied Nagler to Rilo Kiley's extended musical family felt like festive ribbons. ||| Photos by Jeff Koga Whispertown's show at the Hotel Cafe [...]

The last time I witnessed the Henry Clay People play a New Year's Eve show : The Satellite was known as Spaceland; the Henry Clays covered "Sometime Around Midnight" at, well, about midnight; there was an onstage marriage proposal; the band played 90-plus minutes of classic rock covers in addition to an hour of their own material; and part of the delirious crowd ended up onstage singing along. They're doing it again this year. The lineup for Saturday night's Buzz Bands LA-presented festivities includes cracklin'-good indie-rockers LA Font and Races (the [...]

Well my friends, it's that time of year again! November is a key month in the world of Aaron Loves Meghan... it's the month where we started dating, when we got engaged, and, of course, when we got married. And every year around this time we present our latest Aaron Loves Meghan mixtape! For the newbs, on Nov. 17th, 2007, Megs & I were married and at our wedding (which I iPod DJ'd) we gave everyone there a mixtape called Aaron Loves Meghan and, of course, posted it up on tsururadio. Since then, we've [...]

I've always had a thing for redheads. I think it might have started with Raggedy Anne and then maybe moved on to Pippi Longstocking, but the crimson haired gal that has held my attention the longest is the lovely Jenny Lewis. My interest in Jenny started in the late '80s with the classics (well, classics to me) Troop Beverley Hills and The Wizard. In both films, her characters were sassy and cute and had a take-charge kind of attitude. From those first movie roles I saw, she seems very much like the real life Jenny that I love today. She [...]

Click image to download more songs by this artist Sounds like: Jenny and Johnny, Pascal Pinon, She & Him "Big Deal - 13 (Big Star Cover)" What's so good? Is there anything better than some male/female overlapping vocals? I mean, really. It works for The xx, and it definitely works for Big Deal, coincidentally also UK natives. However, Big Deal is less dark electro pop [...]

On September 27, HT faves Wilco will release their eighth studio album The Whole Love via their brand new label dBpm Records . As an added bonus, anyone that orders the album between now and its release dates will be eligible to win prizes in one of the band's three weekly drawings that will [...]
We've been watching the proliferation of music festivals in Florida over the last few years with great interest and this morning a new player has emerged in the form of the inaugural Orlando Calling festival. Produced by Festival Republic, who organize the Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K., Orlando Calling features a genre-defying lineup that should appeal to a wide range of music fans. The event will take place at the large Citrus Bowl football stadium in Orlando on November 12 -13. Saturday (November 12) and Sunday's [...]
The mysterious is over; the lineup for the inaugural Orlando Calling music festival is here. Set to take place November 12-13 at Orlando's Citrus Bowl Park, the festival will feature an eclectic mix of modern rock and classic rock, hip hop, R&B, and country, with acts like The Killers, The Raconteurs, Pixies, The Roots, Kid Rock, and Bob Seeger & the Silver Bullet Band topping the bill, according to Billboard.com . Billboard reports that the festival's first day will lean toward a more modern sound. Joining The Killers, The Raconteurs, Pixies, and The Roots will [...]

Last week, on the subject of T in the Park, we mentioned that we're so insatiable for festivals, we've taken to having two reviewers at some of our favourites. Our intrepid Live Editor Paul Brown ventured south for Latitude, and is sharing his weekend experiences with you today and tomorrow. You can read Natalie Shaw's take on the festival here . Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Music Pamela Littky Rilo Kiley are not on hiatus. They're not taking a break. They are officially broken up. Following an extensive tour supporting the band's last release, 2007's 'Under the Blacklight,' the band reached a boiling point and never quite came back from it. "I just felt like there was a lot of deception, disloyalty, greed and things I don't really want to submit [...]
Watch Bright Eyes and Jenny Lewis/Jonathan Rice cover Gillian Welch's 'Wrecking Ball' live.
Video: Bright Eyes, Jenny & Johnny Cover Gillian Welch At a concert in Vienna earlier this week, Bright Eyes were joined onstage by tour openers Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice to unveil their new take on Gillian Welch's "Wrecking Ball." Catch a decent audience-shot glimpse of Conor Oberst and friends trading verses on Welch's 2003 Soul Journey cut at the 2-minute mark above.

Fillmore Auditorium | Denver, Colorado | 05 June 2011 | Full Set I have a lot of love for Jenny Lewis . From Rilo Kiley to Jenny Lewis and The Watson Twins to Acid Tongue to Jenny and Johnny , her current project with Jonathan Rice which hit Denver earlier this month as support for Bright Eyes . These two gave a really fun, easily enjoyable set. Jenny and Johnny - Big [...]

It was a night of charming redheads at the Casbah. Follow Owl and Bear on Facebook and Twitter for contests, MP3s, and links that don't make it onto the blog.

The performance by Jenny and Johnny on Saturday night at the Music Box was something of a show by young lovers for young lovers. Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice, fronting a big band of stellar L.A. musicians, played songs from their debut "I'm Having Fun Now," and they looked like it. Photographer Jeff Koga sends along this gallery.

Review - Jenny and Johnny @ The Music Box - Hollywood, CA - 06/11/11 This review comes from Dustin Cary an avid concert goer that has covered a few shows for YTC already. In his most recent offering he reviews Goldenvoice and KCRW presents Jenny and Johnny at The Music Box. Thanks for the write up Dustin, it sounds like it was a great show and that I def missed out by not being in attendance. Jenny and Johnny @ The Music Box Concert Review [...]

![THE MIGHTY SASQUATCH STRIKES AGAIN [FESTIVAL]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3495239_lg.jpg)
When I sat down to write this, I had been in New York approximately one hour and had slept only twelve over the previous five days. I was still shaking, maybe from fatigue, maybe from excitement, maybe from the hangover - or probably from a combination of the three. I had 800 photos to go through on my camera and about five pages of notes consisting of exclamation marks, "amazing" and "holy shit" over and over and over again. When I say that the weekend I spent at The Gorge in Washington was one of the best [...]
