Jens Lekman's crooning voice translates well no matter what language he sings in or whose song he happens to be singing. Of course we adore all of his original work, we did name Night Falls Over Kortedala our favorite record of 2007 after all. But every once in a while it's a real treat to... Read More

The first city based music festival I ever went to was Accelerator in 2002, held by Luger in an old brewery in Stockholm. I realised there and then that I had found the perfect way for enjoying such festivities; of being surrounded by music, bumping into people, and getting that whole festival vibe, but always being able to go home to a real bed (not a tent peg in sight!). I went to Accelerator every year from then onwards, until Luger decided to put more energy into the emerging Way Out West festival in Göteborg. [...]
For those of you wondering, yep, we survived ! Things have been so busy lately (with the move and all), I only just realised I'd completely forgotten to post a few pictures and videos from the Great Indie Tour of 2010. So, slightly delayed, here you go! - Kings of Convenience in Barcelona - July 22 This was our [...]
The summer of Jens continues… First, Lekman gave us a wonderful waltz-time mixtape , then a brand new song , and now he's singing lines from Ibsen's Hedda Gabler to the tune of "Moviestar" by Harpo, "What Is Love" by Haddaway, and the Zorba the Greek theme by Mikis Theodorakis. All while dressed up as Kraftwerk's Florian Schneider no less. Appearing on an Australian quiz-comedy show earlier this month, Jens Lekman answered music trivia questions (many of which were about artists from his native Sweden), riffed with the host [...]

As always the world has been really busy, while I was away on holiday. Would be much appreciated if the world took a timely break every now and then as well, as it would make catching up so much easier. Instead of leaving me when the unpleasant feeling that there are lots and lots of things I'm going to miss, because I cannot read every mail, tweet, blog update etc. of the past two weeks. I know I post exactly the same story of whining every year, but I just can't help myself. However I will from this moment on [...]

MP3 Jens Lekman - The End of the World Is Bigger Than Love New music from Jens Lekman is always a reason for celebration, especially when the result is something as gorgeous and poignant as his new single. The track features the Swedish pop maestro in his prime with enchanting strings, piano instrumentation and a delicate, stunningly pretty melody. The theme of the song can be aptly summed up in the chorus line as Jens tries to convince himself that "our broken heart is not the end of the world, because the end of [...]

Summer is almost over right? It's been a crazy one. Personally, I've hit the highest of highs and some pretty low points as well but I'll never forget summer 2010. When I saw this track at The Stu Reid Experiment , I immediately pressed play as I try to hold on to the last remnants of this magical season slipping away. This helps. Just a little more, yeah? Hope everyone had a good summer 2010. If you didn't, you've still got some time. I recommend Belgian beer, sunlight, and this track. Jens Lekman - A [...]

Photo credit | Paul Bridgewater The Blow are a misleadingly named band. Indeed, they're not a band at all, no matter how much Mikhaela Maricich tries to persuade us otherwise. Nor do they blow. Far from it, in fact. From the first pre-recorded drum beats of the effortlessly cool 'Hey Boy', the quirky Ms. Maricich delivers a set which packed a punch, not to mention some pretty funky dance moves. Her bewildering, mesmerising performance, framed around an ill-fated, possibly entirely fictitious relationship with a red-headed celebrity with a penchant for underwear malfunctions [...]
I'll admit it...I've never been completely sold on Jens Lekman. His modern croon just weirds me out sometimes. That being said I do think I'm coming around on him. For some... [go to the website to read the rest of the article, download mp3s and more]
He began the show by saying "Thank you for not forgetting about me" and if Jens Lekman 's songs had somewhat slipped our mind at the start of this show, they were firmly re-ensconsed by the end. Before Lekman arrived onstage there was the odd quasi-performance art of The Blow , in the form of Mikhaela Maricich, who, it emerged, has been active for the best part of ten years without impinging on my consciousness even for a second and, maybe more surprisingly, without packing it in. She was awful – passable tinny solo electro-pop interspersed [...]

HOW COULD ONE NOT LOVE A JENS LECKMAN TRACK? After the gorgeous summer mix, " Summer in 3/4 Time ", Jens Leckman gives us more reason to love his music even more: ♫ Jens Leckman - The End Of The World Is Bigger Than Love "It was the day before the american election 2008 and I was filled with a hopelessness that only a McCain supporter could have shared with me at the time. I was in Washington DC [...]

Julien Bourgeois The inimitable Jens Lekman has been a bit quiet since wrapping up support for 20072s Night Falls On Kortedala but a the last couple weeks have seen not quite a flurry of activity from the Swedish singer-songwriter, but definite signs that he's not been idle while away. First came what he called "A Summer In 3/4 Time", a downloadable mix/mash-up that started as a remix he did for Au Revoir Simone and turned into an extended aural treatise on 3/4 and 6/8 tempos spanning [...]
