Jens Lekman is still right in the middle of touring in promotion of his fantastic album I Know What Love Isn't , so you might not expect him to have released a brand new track so soon, but the song actually ties into his current touring. I'll let the man himself pick up the story; taken from his blog Smalltalk , he says Back in October, my pianist Jonas got stuck in New York after the city got hit by hurricane Sandy. The roads were flooded, flights were cancelled, even the Chinatown buses stood [...]

The roads were flooded, flights were cancelled, even the Chinatown buses stood still. This was two days before our west coast tour was supposed to start. I decided to ask for your help. I asked if anyone would be able to drive him to Boston where I knew we [...]
So during and after hurricane Sandy, New York was in complete distraught. Almost all forms of transportation was shut down ... Read the full article at http://www.prefixmag.com/news/ jens-lekman-releases-a-new-son g-olivia-maddy/72678/

In which the ever-charming troubadour gives back in song to two fans and the hundreds who responded to his plea for someone to drive his pianist, Jonas, from New York to Boston amid the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Jens compares the pair to Batman and Robin for saving the start of his west coast tour, but then dreams of bigger things: I didn't know I had such an army to mobilize I think about what else we could organize So meet me in the midnight hour Tonight I'm feeling mad with [...]

Jens Lekman has released a freebie called "Olivia & Maddy." The track is inspired by all the help he and his pianist, Jonas, received after Jonas got stuck in New York during Superstorm Sandy — which fell two days before the kick-off of Lekman's west coast tour. From his website : I asked if anyone would be able to drive [Jonas] to Boston where I knew we could get him on a plane. In return I offered a little money and a song. I was shocked when I checked my email a few minutes later [...]

Jens Lekman is a man you can clearly trust to keep his promises. When not pretending to be his lesbian friend's boyfriend in front of her deeply-religious father , he's promising to write songs for two girls that drove his pianist from New York to Boston during Hurricane Sandy so he could hop on a plane and out on tour with Lekman. And here that is, a thank you to Olivia and Maddy, handily called 'Olivia & Maddy'. It's also free to download, so that's just a present for all of us, isn't it.

Here's a song Jens Lekman wrote about two girls named Oliva and Maddy, who drove his pianist Jonas Abrahamsson from New York City to Boston in the wake of Hurricane Sandy so that Abrahamsson could catch a flight to the West coast in time for Lekman's latest round of tour dates. Jens Lekman - "Oliva & Maddy"
He's only just released his latest album last year but Swedish crooner Jens Lekman is already dropping new tracks, although this one has an interesting backstory to it. As his label Secretly Canadian describe: "During Hurricane Sandy last November, Jens Lekman’s pianist, Jonas, was stuck in New York City with no way of getting to the West Coast to resume touring. Jens reached out to the world, asking if anyone could help get Jonas to Boston, where he could catch a flight. Two girls, Oliva and [...]

Artwork by Francesca Bonifacio Yesterday, we unveiled your picks for our 2012 Reader's Poll , and today we're continuing our year-end coverage by revealing our Honorable Mentions. 2012 was a great year for music, and it was tough to only choose 31 albums, so we made sure to include some picks that we enjoyed but didn't quite make it on our list . Be sure to come back to the site everyday for the rest of the week to see our Best EPs and Best Songs of 2012, along with our personal picks [...]
Um álbum que parece ter passado um pouco ao lado de muita gente foi o mais recente trabalho de Jens Lekman, 'I Know What Love Isn't'.

Thanks To Camilo for this great artwork. Looking back at 2012, there were plenty of albums that I loved. Was it the best year of music in recent memory? Maybe not, but it was a damn good year in its own right. There is a lot that we may look back on and remember well into the rest of the decade. This year I listed my Top 40 albums, as well as a few honorable mentions that were as close to making my list as they come. I didn't get to listen [...]
Number ten in my LPs of 2012 is the wonderful Jens Lekman and his release I Know What Love Isn't. I have been a big fan of Jen's since back in 2004. The guy has a really strong gift for melody and an arch knowing lyrics. Pop music from the clever and literary end. The two tracks I really love are the title track I Know What Love Isn't The World Moves On [...]

The conclusion of Ca Va Cool's best albums of 2012 picks up where the first half left off , featuring old favourites and brave new sounds side by side: indie pop sits next to a "post-internet" patchwork sound; thematically-advancing hip-hop sidles up to our beloved indie rock. Without further ado, here are our writers ten favourite albums of the past year. Photograph by Kristin Lidell 10. Jens Lekman – I Know What Love Isn't How could anybody break up with Jens [...]

Jens Lekman: photo by Michael Ligon I will mention that Jens Lekman and his band's performance of "The Opposite of Hallelujah" at the Phoenix Concert Theatre this past October 4th was just about my favourite single live performance of the year, with the crowd singing and snapping fingers along to the tune, with just about everyone with the biggest grins on their faces. And then at the end of the song, Jens magnificently mimicked playing a xylophone in the air, synched perfectly with the drummer tapping the last few notes [...]
