The always-active Jeremiah Jae is of that breed of artists who never seem to stop creating and dropping new projects. And before he releases Ignorant Prayers II with Azizi Gibson, the Brainfeeder rapper-producer has revealed the debut album from one of his many side projects. It's Gesus , the proper first full-length from Young Black Preachers. The duo consists of Jae, who raps and produces most of the beats, and Tre, who sticks to the rhymes. Together, they deliver some of the grimiest, rawest hip-hop to creep its way onto the Internet this [...]

The Los Angeles branch of the Boiler Room put on a pretty damn special show recently featuring one hell of a lineup of rappers and producers. And instead of just sticking to the side while their contemporaries performed, everyone got together for some epic cypher action as Mndsgn and PBDY held it down on the production, respectively. Oliver The 2nd , Zeroh , Jeremiah Jae , Azizi Gibson , Jonwayne , and Open Mike Eagle rapped bars on bars on bars during the first pass-the-mic extravaganza while other MCs worked their [...]

Max Bell is headed overseas. Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Maryland, Los Angeles—Azizi Gibson has never not been on the move. Raised as perpetually mobile military brat, he has no real hometown. As a result, it seems he’s not bound by any particular regional sound or set of aesthetic criteria. There’s no scholarly (read: sometimes cringingly derivative) adherence to NY boom-bap, to re-flipped/rehashed Premier and Pete Rock breaks and samples. The 310, 323, and 213 were only accessible via Dre and Snoop records, so the G-funk synths and bass lines aren’t necessarily ingrained and/or obligatory. Basically, though he’s [...]

More rap duos! While you were out last weekend, Brainfeeder standouts Azizi Gibson and Jeremiah Jae debuted "8th Street," part of the follow-up to last year's Ignorant Prayers mixtape, which featured Jae mostly on the production side of things. Expect the follow-up mixtape soon. In the meantime, stream "8th Street" below.

It is a most glorious day, dear Potholes readers. Brainfeeder rapper Azizi Gibson has announced that he and Jeremiah Jae will release a second Ignorant Prayers project in the coming months. The first was a free mixtape that stayed in my rotation all last summer and I get the feeling that the second will, too. I'm basing that off its first single, the wonderfully weeded "8th Street", that finds Gibson flowing with ease over Jae's bells-tinged beat. Gibson's Ghost In The Shell album is coming soon. I hope! You can [...]

New music from Jonwayne "Rap Robbery" featuring Jeremiah Jae, off Scion 10 Series Music Release . This 10-track compilation, titled Scion 10 Series Music Releases, marks they brand's 10-year anniversary featuring artists they’ve worked with in the past as well as a few new ones. Several new tracks will be release between now and June 10th, so remember to check back! http://www.scionav.com/blog/20 13/05/23/scion-10-series-music /

To celebrate 10 years of Scion, the car company is putting together a compilation sporting music from ten stellar independent artists. Our first taste of the project also happened to be on Jonwayne 's Cassette 2 , which is a collaboration between himself and fellow rapper/producer Jeremiah Jae . This, of course, is a clean version, but it hits just as hard as it certainly does on the tape release. The Scion compilation will also feature music from the likes of Poolside, Chromatics, Harry Fraud and Smoke DZA. Tracks will drop sporadically between now and [...]
The latest member in Ghostly International's ever-growing list of ultra-impressive producers is 21-year-old Lord RAJA . Jeremiah Jae fans might recognize the name, as the two have teamed up as Raja Black in the previous months, with RAJA playing the producer role. Today, RAJA debuted his brand new Rubies EP, which is completely free to download . The six track EP, also available to stream below, touches on hip-hop samples but mostly stays afloat with supreme atmospheric touches. And the deeper it goes, the more textures reveal themselves.
It's safe to say that the winner of the past week was Tyler, the Creator , whose new album, Wolf , finally dropped. It's looking to push a solid number of units and Tyler gave one of his best late-night performances of his career doing "Rusty" on The Late Show With David Letterman . We're hoping De La Soul runs the world next week, which is when t hey'll drop their first single since 2004. If not, maybe we'll just put together another list of albums that [...]

Brainfeeder-signed producer and rapper, most recently lending a hand to more than a few of the beats on Captain Murphy ’s debut Duality mixtape, Jeremiah Jae released a selection of Beastie Boys edits in the form of a release he's calling Black Castle - Beastie Boys Remixes , this week. Keeping the trio's original vocals intact and ensuring the nostalgia factor is at an all-time high, while infusing his own brand of psychedelic hip hop fury, Jeremiah Jae hit a homerun on this [...]

Canciones como " Just A Test " y " Ch-Check It Out ", se transforman en piezas psicodélicas y disonantes. Escucha a continuación la versión de " Intergalactic [...]

Brainfeeder's Jeremiah Jae tackles the Beastie Boys ' catalogue on a surprise remix LP, Black Castle , reworking and submerging a slew of their cuts in his signature soupy, lo-fi production. Tracks like "Just A Test" and "Ch-Check It Out", once brazen and punchy anthems, effectively get transformed into psychedelic, melt-your-face-off spells. Listen to Jae's jarring take on "Intergalactic" below and then download the entire free project.

Brainfeeder's Jeremiah Jae is pushing rap weight at an alarming rate in 2013. He spent the month of January organizing his Black Jungle Radio Series, which became a full-length download and a favorite from the month. He linked up with Oliver the 2nd for the Rawhyde cassette, which flipped wild west samples from the television program. He's generally kept his Soundcloud feed scrolling with battered and bruised production excursions that've wowed our socks off, but his collection of Be...

Out of nowhere, Brainfeeder's Jeremiah Jae dropped a new project dedicated to (and remixing) the Beastie Boys . At first blush, I'm thinking to myself, "Do the Beasties really need to be remixed by anyone?" A quick "Probably note" crosses my mind until the zip file finishes downloading and I load it into my iTunes. Immediately, it's apparent that Jae's blunted, tripped-out approach to producing is a choice complement to the Beasties' brash, playful rhymes. It's snarling and psychedelic; it's lo-fi and off the wall; and it's altogether rad. You can download the project [...]

Jeremiah Jae 's latest visual, "Cable", plays out like a grim crime drama you caught late at night, recorded onto a VHS, and then watched again the next morning. In other words, you're trying to make sense of it all, from the stark narrative to the grainy footage. What does it all mean? A lot, really, though it all depends on whether or not you're paying attention. Watch the video below.

Jeremiah Jae 's rad new visuals for the Flying Lotus-produced "Cat Fight", one of many highlights off last year's Raw Money Raps , somehow slipped under the radar this past week. But hey, better late than never right? Director Yasha Gruben employs a trippy split-screen effect here that helps to portray a more tumultuous part of Jae's relationship with a woman. It also holds your attention, no easy feat considering I bet you have at least five other tabs open.
