I received a message from Stuarto requesting I cover his show in the late afternoon hours of Friday, March 8. After a minute or two to think about it, I agreed. In all the times I've covered for his show over the past year and a half, I have never done a show that gives a nod to his show, which often features more mainstream music including a handful of tunes from the 60s and 70s. For March 8, I decided this needed to change. I pieced together quite the show for the first two [...]
After a prolific run, Jeremy Jay took some time off, but whilst checking in on the guy, I came across a new tune, which appears only in the demo form below. Interestingly, he seems to have lost a bit of his soul-influenced bent, leaving us with a more solemn track that works predominantly with just a pounding drum beat and light guitar work. You can hear faint accompaniment of the atmospheric/electronic sort in the background, so who knows where the track will end up in the long run, but this seems like a pretty [...]

Jeremy Jay - In This Lonely Town Nouvelle Vague - So Lonely

Man, what a wild week. And I'm not talking about the wild you indie folk are used to, likely boozing it up and partying every night. I'm talking about the working life, the stress of the job, the busy days and exhaustion-laden nights. Going to bed at 9:30; I feel old. So on Fridays, I look forward to cutting loose. I needed something epic this week. Something loud, raucous, and rambunctious. And I found it in this playlist. At the studio, 10 pm, the lights are dim [...]

Three reasons to shake it on over to the Burlington tonight... 1. Are you Jimmy Ray? No, it's actually K Records' Jeremy Jay that will bring his moody and smooth tunes to the Burlington tonight. Taking more from new wave and folk than the ever popular chillwave, Jay spices his tunes with cues from '80s synth-pop while letting his subtle croon set the vibe. LISTEN: "Wild Orchids" 2. This show began like any other, but without the transition difficulties. All was smooth. The music, on the other hand, was not. After a long, satisfying week, I was in need of some loud, abrasive rock music. But it wasn't all like that. Due to the cold weather, I mixed in some beach pop, fuzzy dream pop and good old garage rock and pop. Don't forget to hit up the bottom of this post and listen to two tracks from the playlist! "Torn Curtain" by Television [...]
Damn you Pitchfork! Your big name status always gets you the singles first! Well, that's okay, just because you got there first doesn't mean I can't continue to express my adoration for Geoffrey O'Connor of the Crayon Fields . I met Geoffrey years back when he played at our showcase, and I was grateful that we were able to have a show featuring one of my favorite acts. Now, he's got some time, and with that, he's crafted a solo record titled Vanity is Forever [...]

![Jeremy Jay: Dream Diary [Album Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3357835_lg.jpg)
Jeremy Jay debuted on the scene in 2007 with singles for Airwalker and We Were There . I snagged both of those at the time, and I really enjoyed them. His debut LP, A Place Where We Could Go , too, was impressive. He then released a few more LPs and a few more singles, and that leads us to his fourth album, Dream Diary . Born and raised in California, Dream Diary has that state's sound - it's sunny, but it irks to get away from [...]
