![[Introducing] – Abadabad](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3981324_lg.jpg)
Tweet I didn't know how lovely looping could be until I listened to the Brooklyn-based band Abadabad . Their enveloping music was first brought to my attention in September 2011 during CMJ by Andrianna Albert, the beautiful blogger behind Gluttony Is The New Black , but since then it has become increasingly clear to me that this group is one to keep an eye on. With trippy beats, sparkling guitar parts and wandering, woozy vocals, Abadabad sounds kind of like a daydream brought to life. The [...]
" ABADABAD is dangerous, tape relic'd, guitar rock from a land of perpetual summers of dreamy ladies. These moments and dreams happen somewhere in Brooklyn, NY." As proof, Jeremey Lee Given titled a sentimental pop song "Park Slope (I'm Sorry)". All new releases from Given are under the band name ABADABAD. Upon my odd discovery of "Old Flames," I've been following this man through blogger Andriana over at GluttonyIsTheNewBlack (check it out, she can get dirty sometimes). "Old Flames" is a track that was replayed 20 times after the [...]

Jeremy Lee Given - Arapaima Funny how things happen but last week I had been on an interview with Local Music 101 (podcast) and we were talking about local acts that I was excited about. One of which I spoke of is Jeremy Lee Given, who is also a member of Boston band Rodeo Church . Months ago Given had afforded me the opportunity to hear his fantastic solo album Old Flames; and soon after this conversation I had with Local Music 101, Jeremy came out of nowhere to give me [...]
Beeld: Jeremy Lee Given - Rebel Ghost

Within the first twenty seconds of Jeremy Lee Given's (@jeremyleeusa) title track, "Old Flames", a smile swept across my face in response to the obvious greatness I'd just discovered. His authentic southern voice is a dreamy one, dripping with conviction, passion and sincerity. Given that I'm such an incredible sucker for shakers, when those glorious little instruments were brought in at the 2:35 mark, I officially fell in love, transforming my smile into a proper grin. Given's debut album, Old Flames , was originally going to be a [...]

another fantastic bandcamp find...jeremy lee given from tennessee. i actually stumbled across the album old flames as i perused the country tags, trying to satisfy a craving for some twang. while this album isn't something i'd really describe using the word twang, it most certainly satisfied my need for some great tunes. the lo-fi folk-rock album (those are but a few of the words i'd use to describe it) is actually quite fantastic, and as luck would have it, it's available right over here for whatever price you chose to pay. if you'd like [...]

Rodeo Church is a band you need to know. The Boston-based four-piece released a killer EP in the waning days of 2010. Now, just a few frozen weeks later, they're back with a killer new single "Promises", which one hopes is a sign of things to come from their debut LP. Lo-fi art-pop done so well that it wraps you up like a warm blanket. Listen to Promises below and head to the Rodeo Church bandcamp page to grab the full EP (pay what you want). Rodeo Church - Promises [...]

It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are just a few of the songs that would get there own individual posts on here on GIMME TINNITUS, if I only had the time. This time it's not just remixes. Listen. Downloadables: Minajah (mp3) by True Womanhood (part of the REEL TOO REEL project) Go Ahead ( Snoretex [...]

Rebel Ghost Last week I got quite the little New Years gift. A submission from Jeremy Lee Given in the form of his debut effort Old Flames. Knoxville's Jeremy Lee Given, tracked mostly at his father's home in Fountain City, Tennessee, the album was then produced just outside of Boston in Winchester, MA by producer Will Lakritz. The album, entitled Old Flames, has been in heavy rotation for me and for good reason. It's a downtempo album with some great sounds. Subtlety in music can be a difficult concept [...]
For a debut LP, Old Flames is beyond excellent. Strictly analog, these well-crafted folk pop tunes were created for the purpose of exploring the boundaries of VHS and cassette mastering. Compared to Given's other band, Rodeo Church, Old Flames is definitely on the softer, more folky side, though Rodeo Church is just as equally catchy. [...]
