As Dre. Dre protege, Kendrick Lamar continues his way across the US through till August ( See Dates ), his music trails off into the memories of his hundreds of followers, fans, fanatics -and luckily for us- musicians who see things a little bit differently. While we're on a serious groove kick over here at Get Lifted Tonight so allow us to deliver yet another name for you to covet; Jesse Rose , a Hip-Hop head gone House whose influences are more prevalent than ever in his production and performance. [...]
Underground house mainstay Jesse Rose is no stranger to hip-hop. Off the back of production duties for Chuck English and a further stint of urban-tinted house with initial 1212 concept single "Love the Feeling High" alongside Ed Weathers, the London-born legend returns with a complimentary take on the handiwork of Compton's new favorite rap sensation, Kendrick Lamar. Behind the wheel of "Swimming Pools," Rose channels high frequency grooves and subtle melodic progressions through Lamar's immediately identifiable ver bal banter. The finished product is inherently strong crossover, adding yet further proof to the two genres mutual compatibility at a price no one can fault. [...]

In anticipation for his upcoming EP, Jesse Rose released his remix with Thee Mike B of Shuffle that Paper. The track has funky goodness all over it and has that balanced nicely with some darker vocals. Shuffle The Paper will no doubt be a HUGE track for 2013 and I for one can't wait to hear the rest of the Paper Heart EP which drops exactly 1 week from today... until then, ENJOY!

Los Angeles based producer Jesse Rose's new Body Play EP is pretty serious. Three tracks, 2 originals and a remix, all dope, and definitely worth checking out... enjoy.
By Stef Siepel January 25, 2013 The Weekly Froth! A weekly take on six tracks, most of which have recently popped up somewhere in the blogosphere. Bit of a mixed bag with a slight leaning towards house, disco, and remixes, but generally just anything that for some reason tickled the writer’s fancy. Track of the week : ‘Why_Ya_Why’ by Jamie Lidell I actually remember watching him at a festival when he had just released that mega hit ‘Multiply’. [...]

“ Doin’ Ya Thang ” from a year ago still gets regular spins from me. Play that tune with “ 7” Pimp ” by Patryk Molinari (via the Berlin based imprint Exploited) and, well, the two just work great together, IMO. So Oliver$, also happens to be from Berlin, and is definitely someone that should be on your radar, if you’re into the deeper and funkier side of house music with roots in old school. Check releases on Made To Play, Grand Petrol and Front Room Recordings and remix work on labels like Greco Roman, Rekids and Exploited (hey [...]

Like it or not DJ culture is all grown up. Starting out in warehouses, basements, lofts and clubs in the '70s and '80s, and evolving into massive raves one-offs, festivals and global tours in the late '90s and '00s, its long and winding road has set the stage for a new generation of formidable talent and musical innovation. If you consider where DJ culture is at the moment, it's hard to see things cooling off anytime soon: DJs are gracing the front covers of old guard print magazines , scoring movie soundtracks , touring with shows [...]
Doctr returns to Brooklyn Fire Records with his second release titled Freakshow, following up his lucrative debut effort Zombies. An onslaught of drums prelude a combination of spiraling synths, palpable chants, and monumental amounts of bass. Landing somewhere between electro house and techno, Freakshow displays a brilliantly arranged effort of audible chaos. Immensely unique and creative, Doctr seamlessly [...]
Starting out as a most excellent compilation series run out of Berlin by Jesse Rose, Made For the Night quickly broke out of the confines of the home stereo and into the clubs as a global party event. That party has been hitting up cities like Barcelona and Paris in recent weeks and is now [...]

Jesse Rose is back with a new memorable track on Switch's label Dubsided. One thing I love about Dubsided releases is there's some cheekines in all of their track as if they don't take themselves that seriously. THe results are almost always a tune that is fun and memorable. Jesse Rose's 'FatMan' is no exception, utilizing cutup sample from Star Wars' cantina band theme. I guarantee that if you drop this, some one will run up to the stage and ask about it. Yes, it is that cheeky. Jesse Rose's ' FatMan' is out now on [...]

LA resident producer/DJ Jesse Rose, released his first solo single for 2012 called "Fatman". This is without doubt one of the catchiest cut-up's you will hear in the next months as the sample was taken from Star War's "Cantina". Fans familiar with Jesse's work in Black Rose will possibly recognise the sound and the aesthetic of this record. The single delivers as much punch as it can fun and definitely will be one of the most recognizable tracks of 2012. Check it out! Electronic dance music, House, Electro, Disco, Progressive, Tech, Dance, club banger, [...]
