Already a shoe-in for the Best New Band Name of 2010, Jesus Makes The Shotgun Sound is making some music worthy of their moniker. The Southern California (go figure) quartet has just uncorked their debut EP, Damnant Quod Non Intelligunt , which suggests a musical lineage that includes liaisons with Swans, Recoil and Radiohead. Lot to like here, and it'll be interesting to see if the band is able to sustain this level of creativity for a full-length, or if they become just another cool band name on a faded poster on a phone pole [...]

An eerily beautiful overlaying of images takes "Do Not The Clothes Make The Man?!" to another level. Song reminds of Radiohead. Video reminds of being trapped inside a heavy acid trip. The dancer in a tutu towards the end's leg really freaked us out.
Watching a large portion of the world scratching it`s head after learning how all flights through UK airspace were cancelled for a week at the beginning of this month. Financially and emotionally crippling for those desperate to fly, airlines losing millions and our international postal system reduced to a donkey and cart. Sometimes, it's really all in the name, right? Not since "Jesus Built My Hot Rod" has a name with Jesus in it been as completely awesome. The California band takes it's musical queues from Explosions In The Sky via Sonic Youth, with Dave Gahan's vocals thrown in for good measure.
