Gotta love free shows at the Waterfront.  We caught The Walkmen, Theses United States and Trampled by Turtles last night for free, now we will turn right back around on July 4th and see the legend, Jimmy Cliff , play on the Great Lawn (for free).  This is one for the bucket list.  And there will be fireworks after. A veteran reggae icon returns with brand new album for 2012...

Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff has announced a title, release date and more details for his new album which was produced by Rancid 's Tim Armstrong. The record is titled Rebirth and is due out July 17th, 2012 via Universal . It will include four of the six songs from last year's Sacred Fire EP including covers of The Clash 's "Guns of Brixton" and Rancid 's "Ruby Soho." The legendary Jimmy Cliff has announced the full-length follow-up to last year's Sacred Fire EP . Universal Music will release Rebirth on July 17th. Produced by Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong, who also helmed Sacred Fire , Rebirth mixes 10 original tracks with covers of The Clash's "Guns of Brixton" and Rancid's "Ruby Soho".
