In this installment of our 100 Albums You Might Have Missed series we look back at the year 2005. The year brought some solid records ranging from blues-inspired rockers to some well-crafted releases in the folk/alt-country category. Throw in some acoustic diddies, some southern rock and a sweet pop-rock album to round out the bend. A good year indeed. The Weight - Ten Mile Grace Released: September, 2004 The debut album from one [...]

Jimmy Eat World are probably busy packing their bags before jet-setting to Holland this week, but the Mesa, Ariz.-based quintet spent Friday afternoon in Los Angeles and stopped by Jay Leno 's new/old, not-so-late-night talk show to play a song from their latest studio effort – Invented . Maybe it was cold in the Studio 11(or maybe he was nervous to be playing in front of the man who ran Conan O'Brien off of NBC), but the "magic" of television sure made singer/guitarist Jim Adkins sound a bit off key during the first [...]

Invented , the sixth full-length album by Jimmy Eat World , contains the signature big hooks and sing-along melodies for which the band has become famous. Fans of the band's older hits like "The Middle," "Sweetness," and "Pain" will find lots to grab onto…and those same fans will be happy to learn that Mark Trombino, who served as a producer on the band's first three albums Static Prevails, Clarity and Bleed American, is again at the helm for Invented. While the music is "classic Jimmy Eat World," the lyrics come from a completely different place than ever before. [...]

Neon Trees - Animal "So take it easy on me I'm afraid you're never satisfied." I figured it might be about time to post a song that is actually playing on the radio? Well I know even so, it is a little late on this song, but I like it, and I keep forgetting the name, so I finally found it and downloaded it today. Don't you love the picture of them above? Stylish but pretty much trying to hard? I love it. But the lyrics I posted above are kinda relatable to me [...]

Copeland - You Have My Attention I think the genre of music Copeland falls under explains most of the type of music I listened to in the last two years of high school. I attended many shows in high school, in which most of the time I was there to see Mae, but then I would also see Copeland and Sherwood alongside them. But not til a few years ago did I really start enjoying the music of Copeland. Then of coarse, they broke up, like most of my favorites do. I should really try sticking [...]

Foo Fighters fans that are sick of reading worthless news about Dave Grohl going pumpkin hunting with his infant are in for a treat this morning. Rock Sound reports that the band is returning to the stage this summer for what will surely be two pretty epic nights in England. Hell, they might even play some songs from that "heavy" album they've been working on lately . Jimmy Eat World delivers some "sweetness" and punchy hooks on its seventh album. But does it rank high beside its best works from 1999 and 2001?
