Jimmy Edgar will release his first album in 2 years, Majenta , through Hotflush on May 7th. It's pretty damn amazing, a sleazy mash of electronics and R'n'B which works unbelievably well, and the cover is pretty striking too. It's available to stream over at Resident Adviser at the moment, we recommend you go check it out.
This month we start with a rather minimal yet paradoxically large 'Zone' by Elgato, raising the bpm from 120 to 150, and finishing off again with a masterful Lone track from his album Galaxy Garden, featuring Machinedrum on the vocals. We also have features from 3 other outstanding albums, including Actress' R.I.P , Distal's Civilization , and Lazer Sword's Memory , all highly recommended. Jimmy Edgar returns with his third album, Majenta. With previous albums released on Warp and !K7 , expectations of a fairly leftfield electronica aren't unfair.
