In very unexpected news, the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco will hold a night of performances by Phillip Glass, Joanna Newsom and Tim Fain in what is being called 'An Evening with Phillip Glass & Joanna Newsom w/Tim Fain'. The trio will perform on June 25th as part of the Days and Nights Festival, with proceeds going to the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur, California.

Joanna Newsom and Philip Glass have announced that they're set to host a one-off event at San Francisco's Warfield Theatre, a benefit organised for the Henry Miller Memorial Library. Over the weekend, Drag City posted a previously unreleased Joanna Newsom track called "Instrumental 19993 which - get this - is an instrumental track put together in 1999. During that period, Drag City notes, Newsom was "newly armed with a driver's license and a Dodge Caravan" and "making waves in the greater Tahoe-area wedding-music circuit," so if you want some context, you're going to have a hard time finding better details than that.
