Sunday Post Lets jump right into the good stuff with some tracks that have been sent along and also a couple that have been in my electronic devices throughout the past 7 days or so. Art [Anthony Micallef] 'A Thing For Me' is one of my favorite songs from the new debut from the seminal popsters from Brighton. Metronomy can capably stand on it own two legs in the arena of electro pop but they are known more for smooth spaced out cloud filled remixes. [...]

I just found this on Pelski's blog . I was so excited about it I made this post immediately. This song is heavy and has plenty of distortion and filter noise. But it is not annoyingly heavy. It has a good balance. Joe and Will Ask- Surge - MELROSE

Intothefray's other nights - that include Smack & Tickle, Game Over and more recently the succesfull Trouble Vision debut - have garnered a solid reputation as music events that consistently show host to innovative, open-minded musicians; the up-and-comers; the blog-friendly forward-thinkers... So it's unsuprising that both Detboi and Joe And Will Ask? have graced the pelski pages before. Drums of Death recently burst on to the scene, followed by a rapid ascent, recently appearing in mixmag and DJ mag respectively. Drums of Death is the [...]
YoucancallmePelski is still fighting a gruelling battle with the neighbour's internet connection. But desperate times call for desperate measures: stealing my neighbour's shoddy wireless signal is a haphazard blogging process, with my internet continually knocked offline every five minutes. So this post is unfortunately not the official return of your favourite blogger; or at least ur favourite blogger who irritatingly referrs to himself in the 3rd person. No, Pelski's writing to alert you to the second coming of Trouble Vision; upon us in a mere five days. The launch night of Trouble Vision saw a wide [...]

Got put onto this mash (thanks Will) and HOLY FUCK, this is sick. Mixed in 2007, by arguably the best masher around, Party Ben, it screams "fuck yes" and is defiantely a head boppa. Something you play in the middle of your set that gets everybody up dancing and talking about it the next day. Defiantely prefer the original mash to the Ghetto re-rub though, but here's both. GET IT. Download: Galvanize The Empire (Chemical Brothers vs. John Williams) - Party Ben [Highly [...]

joe and will ask are buzzing, buzzing, working, working. you may not be familiar with them just yet, but give them a few remixes to embed themselves in your music repertoire. starting off with the mystery jets is a pretty good way to burst onto the scene. having to get permission directly from the godfather erol alkan to post a track is serious business. give it a listen and you'll see why... that bass! oh, that bass! this is the '11 pm' version of this track, as opposed to the '3 am' version [...]

Here we have a tight little mix from Mismatch - AKA Andy Toone - a new DJ who's only just started playing live DJ sets, with little more than a pair of battered old decks, impecabble music taste and a musical ear. And he's taken to it like a duck to water. He's a friend of mine from Leicester, but has been DJing in Bristol, with a residency at both Oyo's Night and Yam Yam's. I ought to point out; I tend to only post mixes by friends, unless there are remixes or original material from sent by [...]

The crew over at Buffet Libre have been assembling this collection for quite some time now and they just announced it is finally complete. Sixty quality covers/remixes of your favorite (or obscure) 80s tracks all available for free in one nicely wrapped package. So what does that mean? Well it means that good ol' hacks here has been listening all 60 tracks on repeat trying to pick out my favorites. I've tried to stick to some that aren't littering hype... but no guarantees. Dragonette takes the ZZ top sound and destroys it with [...]

buffet libre strike again: their new project 'rewind' is all about 80s cover versions and remixes. for the first edition of 'rewind', they managed to get a stunning total of 57 contributions, a lot of them exclusively done for the project. among the participating artists are a couple of quite established acts like dragonette , south central and electric soft parade as well as a lot of discodust favorites such as frankmusik , keenhouse , cryptonites , overthrill or trash yourself . out of all the [...]

So this post is a bit out of my normal musical genre range, but change can be good. One of my roommates brought Joe And Will Ask to my attention as they have sneaked into some of his minimal/progressive dj sets lately and they are also remixing one of the Acid Girls' tracks. I hear potential for big things... Mark Houle - Techno Vocals (Joe and Will Ask Bootleg) Joe [...]

MARCH 28, 2008 Captured by The Cobra Snake "Overflow" is a list of music that I have found. Some songs are good, some are not, but I'll leave that descision to you, Enjoy! Imagination - So Good So Right [...]
The mildest of winter evenings, the laziest of days. What better time to post the hard work and creativity of friends. These tracks just might be your new best friends too. First things first, it's another Teenagers remix. But with a difference! No Quentin, no 'noise' and a bassline which sounds suspiciously organic to me. When I'm drunk, I tend to mistake this for 'Monkeypuss' by Maurica 'Syclops' Fulton, and there's no better inadvertent commendation than that! I'd post that too, but no doubt you've already bought it or been sent it in the post. If not, BUY [...]
