I'm not entirely sure how I can explain just how much I'm loving this song at the moment. Everything about it, from the moment it starts with that Oh Land-esque harmony, to when the beat drops in, to when Valentina's amazing garage-style vocal starts, is awesome. It is a lesson in dark dance/garage crossover. I cannot wait to hear this on a night out in a club. When I do get that pleasure, I will go and kiss the DJ. Irrespective of their gender. Joe Goddard, one of the guys behind Hot Chip , has a great sideline in solo productions and always seems to be working on a new project or remix, one of which is his Gabriel EP (buy here ) which was released today on DFA. Overall it's a mellow, garage and house influenced electronic affair, with the standout being the beautiful title track "Gabriel", which is perfectly crafted, and benefits from new-on-the-scene Valentina's vocals.
