Cover Art for Johanna Samuel's 'A Little Bit of Both' This just slid in to my inbox a couple days ago, and is definitely going to be getting some play time for the next little while. From what I can tell, Johanna Samuels has some savvy friends doing promotion for her. Anyways, the album, like the title says, is absolutely first rate. Johanna has a great voice, strongly reminiscent of Feist. The vocal sound quality and instrumentation is great, employing mostly the pretty typical jazzy/upbeat melodies you'd expect to hear from an artist in [...]

For those of you, like me, who got today off, congrats! Whew, I needed it. I have a bad habit of procrastinating, especially when it comes to writing papers about bs I really don't want to write about. I realize somewhere down the line it might help me, but that still doesn't mean I have to like it in the here and now. So it's been just a little over 3 months since I started Eldur og Ís with the intention of giving some more attention to the underdog, so to speak. Yeah, I have a thing for [...]
Johanna Samuels is a California-born multi-instrumentalist who recently released her debut album A Little Bit Of Both. The songs on the album, generally following the theme of relationships, are constructed around the album's best instrument: Samuels' voice. Melodic yet forceful, Samuel sings with a range and strength most indie musicians can only hope for. Featuring organ, piano, and strings

I was really excited to receive Johanna Samuels 's new album, I've posted about her a few months ago, back then I posted her single "Say the Word" , there after I became completely obsessed with her work. Her album is titled "A Little Bit of Both" and is an amazing demonstration of uniqueness and talent; combining organs, drums, piano, and other instruments all topped with Johanna's hypnotic warm voice make the CD what it is, a masterpiece. I received the CD yesterday but I wanted to be able to familiarize myself with the CD, by doing so I [...]
top of the evening, all. anyone as excited about the premier of 24 as i am? i dont care much for tv or better yet your typical programs, but when it comes to 24 i get pretty geeky. couple in the fact that it hasn't been on in two years, one could say i am about to get all dry humpy in my pants. so far all the reviews i have read have been positive, which is a good sign. the only thing that is slightly disappointing is that ctu is no more. ctu was the backbone of the story [...]

Johanna Samuels, a talented singer/songwriter, was first championed by Popsense back in November, with promises of an EP... this has grown into a ten-track album - A Little bit of Both - complete with excellent artwork by Johanna. Even better - is it's a free download - woo!. I don't know much more about her than 1: She has a great voice & 2: can write a fine song... Popsense says she's from California, myspace says NYC. I look forward to future releases; with some money/time spent on [...]

I dont know how exclusive is this, but Kevin Sanders (of Silver Lining Promotions) was kind enough to send Metaphor a copy of Johanna Samuels' Debut Album: A Little Bit of Both and I was listening to it in constant rotation these days. As plaintive but wistful as her own description, "Make her feel safe and shell dance", this album caters what every folk-pop listener craves for. And the raw quality doesn't hurt either. You could download it for free . How rad is this girl? [...]
Syrupy vocals and understated orchestrations are what carries this, the debut record from New York, NY-based singer-songwriter Johanna Samuels , A Little Bit Of Both . The pianos lines are just as beatufiul as Samuels's plaintive coo, with tracks like "Since When" and "I Want To Write A Love Song" sounding just as well soundtracking a long drive/ride or a snowy day (like the one we see outside our window right now). Get the record, in its entirety, for free right here . (mp3) Johanna Samuels - I Want To Write A Love Song [...]

hola amigos! hope everyone is just lovely. i, for one, am just fine. i suppose, all things considered, i could be worse.... just wanted to let everyone know that as of about a week, broadcasterhouse.com will no longer exist, so if you have been putting off grabbing off something from there i would do it before thanksgiving. sadly, i just dont have the extra funds to keep it going. it may get brought back at a later date, who knows. btw, its fucking cold here in herndon, va. not diggin it.... i like when [...]
OK do you see that playful beautiful girl on the picture above? Turns out that she is a great musician based form both New York and California, her name is Johanna Samuels and to be honest I'm captivated. Her voice is not a too soft its not too loud, its jazzy, and its sweet; yes, ladies and gentleman she also is multi talented, and as you all know that's the kind of woman that makes me feel like I peed my pants (which is embarrassing). I was having a listen to her new Ep, and I can tell [...]
