I would personally like to thank everyone who worked on this film at Disney, and for this amazing one minute extended preview of the upcoming Taylor Kitsch sexually charged film, John Carter . I know this is a Disney flick so there will be no butt action involved, but thank you to the wardrobe department on their....uhm... less than appropriate wardrobe. I promise to hold a freeze framed screening session at my house once I can buy it on DVD. For the rest of you, the movie drops on the [...]
Even with the ridiculous white savior trope and the similarities to Avatar, trust that director Andrew Stanton will deliver something worthy of your time with John Carter. Plus? It's got Tim Riggins in it. It'll probably be a box-office disaster for Disney, but we're feeling like this could be the kind of movie that discovers a loyal following on DVD. Much like Scott Pilgrim did. Directed by Andrew Stanton, starring Taylor Kitsch, Mark Strong, Dominic West, Bryan Cranston, Willem Dafoe, and Lynn Collins. John Carter hits theaters on March 9.

The full new trailer for Walt Disney Pictures' John Carter can be watched below! The film features a cast that includes Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church and Willem Dafoe. CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW VIDEO "A request video for Sinitus Tempo's track 'Utopia (my place)' off the latest album Peaceland. The meaning of 'Utopia' is a imaginary place or state of things in which, everything is perfect. Taking this in mind along with the summer feel from the track I felt that it would be appropriate to visualise the song as a 'hazy summer dream.' For this I chose focal pulls, bokeh, and a warm grade to help accentuate and support this. The shape split screen was an experimental technique that I may [...]

Broad Street Ministry and the Philadelphia Folksong Society have teamed up to present a pair of back-to-back benefit concerts for BSM, set to take place on Saturday, August 13th. Both shows will feature an exceptional lineup of Grammy-winning producer and singer/songwriter John Carter Cash (also the son of Johnny Cash and June Carter), Philly-native and legendary lyricist John Francis , and the delightful local folk collective Hezekiah Jones . The shows will take place at 7:30pm and 9:30pm at Fergie's Pub, located at 1214 Sansom Street. Tickets cost just $10 and [...]
All three of these trailers hit yesterday and I didn't get a chance to dive into each of them individually. For shame, because there could be lots to talk about. Up first is the trailer for Andrew Stanton's adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough's A Princess of Mars. Anyway, it's strange they went for practical sets and stuff and so this movie doesn't feel like it takes place on Mars/Barsoom, it feels like it takes place in the American southwest. Next up, is the prequel [...]

From Academy Award–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes "John Carter"—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). "John Carter" is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when [...]

Edgar Rice Burroughs had one hell of an imagination - he didn't just write the Tarzan books (including Tarzan at the Earth's Core ), but he also wrote a series of books about Mars featuring an immortal named John Carter. Rumor has it they're making a movie about his adventures , and I anticipate it being awesome. In the books, John Carter is supposed to be from Virginia. You know who else is from Virginia? Pusha T and Malice from Clipse, that's who. Clipse feat. Pharrell - Mr. Me Too [...]

Death in Vegas was Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes. But it was always Richard's band. Final post for this lot. The extracts below are from an interview with Richard in Whisperin & Hollerin from October 2004 when their album "Scorpio Rising" had provoked strongly negative views (from me included) and ahead of their fourth album "Satan's Circus": The "Satan's Circus" album IS quite a departure to the rockier vistas of the band's two previous records. But Richard, was it [...]

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of taking an introductory workshop at the Gestalt Center for Organization & Systems Development in Cleveland. The workshop was run by one of the preeminent figures in the evolution of Gestalt OSD, John D. Carter, along with his wife Veronica Hopper Carter, and, as I sat in the room throughout the weekend looking over at his name tag, I kept hearing clarinets! Of course, John Carter was also the name of one of the greatest clarinetists of the last 50 years. Like John D. Carter, John [...]
