John Dahlback has come a long way since the first time I stumbled across his music, the year he released "Blink", a popular soundtrack in the tecktonik scene, was also the year he made an appearance in Pete Tong's The Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 . Recently, his progressive remix of Sneaky Sound System's "Big" was a massive hit. His latest endeavor "Life" is yet another beautiful track set to release soon Big Beat Records. Toolroom comes at us with one of the most appealing mix albums this year. John Dahlback takes the reins on two mixes compiling 38 tracks from some of house music's heavy hitters. The album features three new exclusives by the man himself, the first being ‘Feel It’, displaying tech grooves with a driving top-line. The other two; ‘Heroes’ and ‘Escape’ showcase Dahlbäck at his harmonious best, blending powerful melodies with expertly produced beats for guaranteed anthems. London producer John Dahlbäck is set to release the next Toolroom Knights compilation. The release will feature 38 tracks including 3 brand news exclusives 'Feel It', 'Heroes' and 'Escape' from the London producer. Highlights from the mix will come via Mark Knight & Wolfgang Gartner’s epic, chart-topping collaboration “Conscindo” and Oliver $’s ‘Granulated Soul’ which was undoubtedly one of 2011’s biggest hits. Michael Woods’ remix of ‘How R U Feeling Right Now’ continues the rolling beats and big room melodies, with further productions from Dahlbäck ‘Life’ and ‘Phoenix’ providing peak time action. There will also be [...]
On February 6th, Swedish house dynamo John Dahlbäck will unveil his "Toolroom Knights" compilation, an album that has been dubbed "a journey through the world's finest house music." The compilation is made up of 38 tracks from artists such as Mark Knight & Wolfgang Gartner, Danny Daze, and Bart B More, and also features three new songs from John Dahlbäck — "Feel It," "Heroes," and "Escape." Along with its impressive tracklisting, "Toolroom Knights" includes two, full-length DJ mixes recorded by Dahlbäck himself. From percussive tech grooves to melodic, big-room anthems, both mixes highlight Dahlbäck's versatility as [...]

While his tracks and name aren't on a Swedish House Mafia-level of notoriety or anything, John Dahlback 's music is consistently awesome and easily remembered. Stuff like Violins of Donau and One Last Ride stick with you. His newest offering, on Spinnin' Records , is Soldier . It's more of a straight stomper and I've been playing it a lot in the middle of my sets. A gangster vocal and some good piercing lead synths light up the dancefloors quite [...]

Just dug up from the old hard drive, an old original Avicii and Dahlback collaboration. Jovicii feat. Andy P-Don't Hold Back (John Dahlback & Avicii Original Mix)

The first of 2012 for Swedish DJ/producer John Dahlback, 'Soldier' is out today on Spinnin' Records. His signature drum kicks and demonic samples similar to 'Overdose' come to mind at first play; however, the composition is refreshing in a variety of ways. The difference between build and break is enthralling...the wailing synths contrast his heavy bass to provide an appealing soundtrack for fans of lucid peak-hour bangers. Expect to see support on this from some of the best in the scene. John Dahlback - Soldier

And now we are proud to bring you the second half of our 2012 all-star picks, with Dutchman NICKY ROMERO taking the top spot. Everyone on this list is amazing and talented and successful in their own right, but Nicky is really heating up, NBA Jam style, and we think this will be his year. Kudos to everyone who made the list - come to NYC as often as possible and show us what you've got! Enjoy and stay tuned for our most anticipated tracks of the year! #1 Nicky Romero [...]
New preview emerging on Spinnin' Records from John Dahlback titled Soldier. Of all EDM producers in 2011, Dahlback arguably had the best year. Constantly pumping out original releases on the best labels in the game like Toolroom, Spinnin', his own Mutants imprint, and Big Beat he's hands down one of my favorite DJs. While other acts prefer to thrive on hype and drop 3 singles per year, it's nice to have producers like John distributing quality tracks that range anywhere from enlightening progressive anthems to twisted electro symphonies. If you're in New York make sure you catch him playing alongside [...]

2012! Perhaps the last year ever , so let's make it a good one. Last weekend EO experienced NYC better than any other blog out there. Period. We took in Afrojack, Bassjackers, Bobby Burns and R3hab , last Thursday, to start our weekend. We even had a representative at Danny Howells NYC debut . We followed that up by seeing Midnight Conspiracy and Feed Me the next night, as well as Alesso . As 2012 grew close, we got some time with Avicii, Swanky Tunes, Arty, Cazette and Glenn Morrison . Also took [...]
