I grew up rural. I recently had to admit that. I have no idea why it took me so long to admit it, but I did. We've seen many tribute albums over the past few years, but sadly they've all fallen pretty flat (we're looking at you, Fleetwood Mac). However, the artists that have come together for The Music Is You: A Tribute To John Denver speaks volumes about his musical position, and the integrity involved. He's not the sort of artist you'd cover to gain a platform from which to make money, and we doubt the likes of Kathleen Edwards, Sharon Van Etten and My Morning Jacket could ever by lead by the mighty dollar.
