From Flynn's YouTube channel : Singer-songwriter John Flynn's new holiday single, Christmas Balls, is a comical cautionary tale about the perils of combining egg nog with small caliber weapons. This affectionately told true story about an inebriated dad who is forced to redecorate the family Christmas tree after using it for target practice with his son's new BB gun has been a staple of Flynn's live holiday performances for years! Now almost as a public service message in this time of "making rather merry" Christmas Balls is available to adorn the yuletide airwaves, and for [...]

John Flynn : A Manatee Sneezed On Me [ purchase, scroll down to the bottom ] John Flynn is a rare artist, in that he writes powerful and poignant songs for adults, but he is also adept at creating wonderful music for kids. Very few artists can do both equally well. Flynn understands that kids find bodily functions funny, and here he lets their parents in the joke too. He tells the story of an unfortunate encounter at the seashore. What happens? The title says it. Musically, Flynn does a great [...]
At least, that's how I would characterize the winter mix we are allegedly going to get tonight. Lately, it seems to me that the National Weather Service has become incredibly optimistic about winter precipitation - we almost never get what is forecast. Visit the blog to read the full post and hear some great music! John Flynn - A Manatee Sneezed On Me ( buy ) I wanted to take a minute tonight, when I should be sleeping, to wish you all a [...]

John Flynn : Dover [ purchase Two Wolves ] Back here , I described the workings of a successful political song. John Flynn, with Dover, has provided a remarkable example. The song manages the neat trick of honoring our fallen soldiers in Iraq while also delivering a strong message against the war. John Flynn is based in the Philadelphia area, and can often be heard on the wonderful station WXPN, where I first heard him. In addition to his adult material, Flynn is also responsible for some wonderful [...]
