Eight pints later and I still wouldn't sit on the JOHN LYDON 's face, who covers the new issue of NME today, talking queen, COWELL and immigration.
Listen below to Public Image Ltd. 's Record Store Day release, "One Drop" John Lydon, best known as the notorious Johnny Rotten, former lead singer of the ever-famous Sex Pistols , returns with a Record Store Day EP titled "One Drop" , as the frontman for Public Image Ltd. - their first new studio material since 1992! The lead single off the EP, "One Drop" is infused with experimental punk, but not the kind of hardcore punk reminiscent of Lydon's [...]

Filed under: News Matt Carr, Getty Images John Lydon has been carrying around a guilty conscience for years. In a candid interview with the BBC , the Sex Pistols frontman admitted that a severe childhood illness could have not only killed him, but that the pain his condition caused his parents was almost too much for him to handle. At 7 years old, Lydon was diagnosed with [...]
The punk icon's distanced himself from the Facebook campaign to get the Sex Pistols track 'God Save The Queen' to number one next month...
John Lydon is livid - livid - with the re-release of God Save The Queen. Livid, I tells you : In a statement, Lydon said of the re-release: "It is certainly not my personal plan or aim. I am proud of what The Sex Pistols achieved and always will be but this campaign totally undermines what The Sex Pistols stood for. "This is not my campaign. I am pleased that the Sex Pistols recordings are being put out there for a new generation, however, I wish for no part in the circus that [...]

Hace unos días The Quietus tuvo la oportunidad de ver a Public Image Limited estrenando un par de canciones, además de entrevistar a John Lydon y hablar con él sobre The Beatles, The Sound Of Music y Julie Andrews, los disturbios en Londres, y más.

I just finished a review of Michael Schenker Group's Rockpalast show and what MSG has in common with PiL is that both bands are led by mercurial leaders who change lineups as often as they change shoes. This particular Public Image Limited show was filmed Halloween night in 1983 with the short-lived "cabaret band" lineup. To put some context around this, bassist Pete Jones had left the band in early 1983 and guitarist Keith Levine had left (or was fired, depending on whose story you believe) prior to the band's Japanese tour. As such, drummer Martin Atkins [...]

John Lydon doesn't give a rats ass about credibility or legacies or selling out. He's in this game for his own amusement. Hence, the multiple ($$$) Sex Pistols reunions, the cringe-worthy butter commercials , and the even more cringe-worthy appearance on I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here. PIL was merely the only outlet left for Lydon to exploit. For me PIL stopped being relevant after Flowers of Romance , but there were a few songs beyond that I could tolerate before the last few dreadful PIL records blighted the whole story. Anyway, well, an incarnation of PIL [...]

As dozens of poorly labeled or incorrectly labeled Sex Pistols' archival releases have hit the market over the last twenty years, it always takes a bit of detective work to figure out exactly what material is covered on any new archival release. This new DVD from the Sex Pistols, "Live: The Broadcast Archives" (how's that for a descriptive name?) is a great addition to the band's catalogue as it captures a full concert from the band on their 1996 Filthy Lucre reunion tour. The show was filmed toward the end of the tour [...]
Public Image Ltd. (PiL) announced its reformation in 2009. Now, two years since that declaration, the band has ... Read the full article at http://www.prefixmag.com/news/ john-lydon-reveals-public-imag e-album-title/59186/
Filed under: News , Exclusive , Movies , New Releases Courtesy of 'Sons of Norway' John Lydon is one of those people who has an agenda and sticks to it. You'd have better luck resurrecting Sid Vicious from the grave than convincing the former Sex Pistols frontman to do something that doesn't strike his fancy. There's a reason, after all, the guy is known as Johnny Rotten . Still, [...]
The National Trust must be delighted with John Lydon's loud complaining about not having had his 'permission' sought for inclusion of a Sex Pistols track on their odd punk collection: "I would like to be able to trust the National Trust but from this point forward I can't. I was very proud to collaborate with The National Trust back in 2003 and voice a radio advert for them. "No-one however has even spoken to myself or my management or had a conversation with myself or my management about this album. Never Mind The.... Permission." [...]
Filed under: News Matt Crossick, Empics/PA John Lydon has revealed that he was told his London house had burnt down just moments before he was due to perform in Italy two weeks ago. And among the victims of the fire were new Public Image Ltd . songs Lydon had written, according to the BBC . No humans were harmed in the fire, with Lydon proclaiming that hearing that his [...]

No Wobble, no Levene, no Walker or Atkins, definitely not Jeanette Lee. Public Image Ltd in 2011 is a very different proposition, but neither is there any of the Lydon revisionism we've had to get used ever since the Pistols got back together all those years ago. Instead there's a faithfulness to the original songs, particularly the older ones. A reverence, even. Their power has not dulled in the intervening 30 years. Not for Lydon at least, if his acerbic, almost acrobatic, rendition of 'Religion ii' is anything to go by, not for the audience either, if their frantic tumbling [...]
Filed under: News - Nick Pickles, WireImage John Lydon has described himself as a "mad barker" during his early days with the Sex Pistols . The singer believes it took his second band -- Public Image Ltd -- to get the best out of him. Speaking to Q magazine (via Contactmusic ), Lydon said, "When you first come out of the gate, as with me and the Pistols, you're going to [...]
