Relight has killed it this year! With too many bangers to even have time to mention... but here is a remix of one of those bangers 'Get Out My Head' by Ego Thieves favourite, Joker. Just having released his debut (some might say long overdue) album, this is the kind of Joker we love to here. Hard sub wobbles, melodic synths and someone who knows a chord when he plays one. Released January 22nd 2012, on MTA Records, it's going to be another good year we can feel it.
I only got round to gettin' the Joker album last week, was stupidly impressed when i heard him last year at the Red Bull Notting Hill Party. One track I remember being a complete vibe changer... DOWNLOAD/ STREAM http://www.feelmybicep.com

Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just like to make really weird sounds with their synths. Read more » http://rpc.blogcatalog.com/ http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ ping

The dubstep of 04-07 has gone the way of rap made exactly a decade prior, but that doesn't mean that it still can't deliver a frozen rope smack to the nostrils. Hence, Joker and Skream form as Parma Violets (this is or will be a new Sativa strain?) to bring the candy-colored bass assault that is "Skittles." Like Yelawolf dropping a marginal Shady Records debut or David Cross doing Alvin in the Chipmunks , it's probably best to reconcile ourselves to the modern one-for-me, one-for-you, style of art/commerce. It's not ideal, but at least we have free forms of [...]
For anyone unfamiliar with Pitchfork's "Selector" series, they're basically online webisodes that pair popular rappers with out-of-the-box producers, then blend their stylings together via some impromptu performances. Last night, I [...]
I mean, do I really need to hype this post up? Take the mic mangling Danny Brown spitting over one of the UK's hottest producers right now in Joker, and what do you get? Some hot fire, that is what. Oh, and all sorts of mcnasty filth, too. Hit the skip to watch the videos.
Yesterday saw the release of a single from 4AD featuring two utopian remixes of Joker's 'On My Mind' from his recently released album The Vision . The first tune is an orchestral and break-heavy rework by none other than Goldie and the second track, from Glasgow producer Rustie, is literally da bomb. And I don't use that term lightly...or at least, I haven't since the '90s. Seriously though, it's an absolute cracker. Which is kind of a fitting description considering it's almost Christmas. If you bought the track, put it on a USB stick and placed it inside a [...]
joker feat william cartwright - on my mind [this is a perfect example of how you should just listen to the song and ignore the crappy music video. definitely nice to hear dubstep soul done properly, joker hooks up with soulster william cartwright on this interesting collaboration!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
In late November, Bristol dubstep prodigy Joker dropped a very special Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1. Two hours chock full of his brand of hedonistic, yet hip dub. In the past, Joker has been a periodic point of talk here at LT3, delivering proper tracks like The Vision and Digidesign . This time around we're treated with a journey spawned from the mind of one of the freshest dubstep producers out there. As can be expected, the mix builds [...]

Joker has kindly given away 6 instrumentals on his up and coming album through his Facebook . For those who don't know him, Joker is a young programmer/producer from Bristol, UK. Currently producing some of the freshest, most innovative grime instrumentals on the scene but equally embraced by the dubstep world, he mixes influences from Dr. Dre-style G-funk to video game chiptune music to UK bass styles. This 6 song instrumental showcases his diverse range of style and ability to create a mood, a tone and tell a story. Purchase: Beatport [...]

Joker's debut album "The Vision" on 4AD was a great piece of work but I personally could have done without the vocals. Thankfully you can get instrumentals of all the vocal tracks on a special download only version . One such track is the new single "On Your Mind" and 4AD have kindly offered up the instrumental version as a free download. The single comes bundled with remixes from Goldie and Rustie and lands on December 5th but for now, get into [...]

It's probably my fault, but I was underwhelmed by Joker 's debut album. It's hard to get super excited when he couples years-old tunes alongside tracks that have been on the dubplate circuit for a bit. I applaud his signature sound, but just wished that I had heard less of the album before it dropped. In any case, I love his unique mixes, and bugged when I realized that he'd stepped up for the Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. He drops tracks from The Vision alongside some remixes, dubplates and big tunes from Skream , [...]

Как сообщает Earmilk , некогда герой бристольской басовой сцены, человек ответственный за слово purple, записал Essential mix для BBC Radio 1. Из этого можно выделить две важные вещи. Первая – появилось поколение, которое выросло на тустепе и может сказать что-нибудь вроде «I always listened to garage as a kid». Второе – Joker без ума от своего альбома и миксует его со старыми треками и ремиксами крутых типов вроде Rustie. Early Saturday morning legendary UK bass musician Joker took over the 1s & 2s at BBC Radio 12s Essential Mix. What ensued are two hours of amazing underground, dubstep and grunge. He made sure to drop many of his tracks throughout the mix and alot of hidden gems that you'll have to cop immediately. This is a bass mix like we've never heard before, there's something in here for everyone. Joker @ BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix 11/19/11 TRACKLISTING [00:00] 01. Essential Mix - Intro [01:50] 02. As if Joker hadn't done enough to please me in the past few months, with an album on 4AD that's grimy perfection with a pop twist and an amazing show in New York City at Terminal 5, he just had to go and outdo himself with a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix last night. Joker's bass-laden tunes will take you on a journey through every solar system in a way that no one else can; he's a unique producer with a really distinct sound that he accurately describes as "space boy goon music," a glorious blend [...]

photo by Shaun Bloodworth When Joker's debut full-length The Vision hit the web last month, I apparently wasn't the only person disappointed in the results of one of my favorite dubstep producer's not-so-thinly veiled attempts at crossing over in to pop territory. Most of the reviews I read reflected this opinion as well, but if last night's BBC Essential Mix was Joker's chance to redeem himself, he certainly did so in the eyes of dubstep purists such as myself. Why he doesn't perform live more often in anyone's guess, but [...]
