Starting off the furious whirlwind of performances before the release of the band's third album Modern Vampires Of The City , Vampire Weekend stopped over Later ... With Jools Holland with a couple new tracks. First, the album's lead single "Diane Young," leading into "Unbelievers." The appearance comes after the Steve Buscemi-directed performance last Sunday at New York's Roseland Ballroom (Buscemi is a distant relative of band member Chris Baio, in case you forgot ) and nearly a week before the band's upcoming Saturday Night Live [...]

Appearing in support of their respective new albums, Vampire Weekend (pictured) and Yeah Yeah Yeahs performed on Later... with Jools Holland recently.  Vampire Weekend highlighted their new Modern Vampires of the City LP with "Diane Young" and "Un believers," while Yeah Yeah Yeahs sang the lead single from Mosquito called "Sacrilege."  Both bands will be at Firefly Festival this summer, happening in Dover, DE on June 21-23.  Tickets and information can be found here .

The latest episode of UK music program Later... with Jools Holland featured the dynamic duo of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Vampire Weekend . Yeah Yeah Yeahs continued to support their new album Mosquito with a performance of "Sacrilege", while Vampire Weekend knocked out "Diane Young" and "Unbelievers" from their forthcoming album Modern Vampires of the City . Serving as a further preview to their 'Modern Vampires of the City' album - Danny Wright's just served up a glowing review of the LP - Vampire Weekend have followed up ' Diane Young' and 'Step ' by playing 'Unbelievers' on last night's Later...Live edition of Jools Holland. Ezra Koenig played a handclap-inducing rendition of the track, which by all means sounds like the most anthem-ready track of theirs to date. "They haven’t forgotten to match this intellect and emotion with giddy, unabashed fun and mile-wide smiling", reads the DIY review. [...]
