Happy April Fools Day everyone. I'm not nearly crafty enough to pull a April Fools prank on you guys this year. I love you too much. Instead, I've decided to drop my March Mix. Once again, the genius Camilo Bejarano designed the artwork for this months mix, and he's outdone himself, yet again. March was a month that saw a mix of big releases, along with plenty of indie gems. It was an eclectic month of music, and this playlist really speaks toward that notion. There's truly something for everyone here. Maybe a track you missed somewhere, or [...]

I had a ton of work to do this week so I couldn't get to all my emails. The one I got from Jordan Martin I opened right before I left to drive up to school. I played Don't Be Afraid and was absolutely blown away. Music outside of the rap genre is something that I listen to once in a blue moon and can just get you right at the perfect time. In a time of stress Jordan Martin's email found its way into my inbox and Don't Be Afraid brought an outstandingly uplifting push. [...]

Jordan Martin is an independent musician from McKinney, TX who can do it all. His main instrument is the guitar, but he's fallen in love with the synth as of late. His talent with various instruments is displayed through his music. One minute Jordan is playing you the fragile acoustic song "Don't Be Afraid". Next he's creating a new world with the blipped out electronic found on the emotional "Down Down Down". He puts it all together on the instrumental "Diaspora" which is a harrowing collection of all his talents put into one place. In the next [...]
![[Looking Back] Five Fantastic Folk Songs](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2502279_lg.jpg)
This song is a bit of a throwback released in 2002-03 by Irish singer-songwriter and musician Damien Rice . I was first introduced to it when I heard it on the episode "In Traslation" from the first season of tv show Lost and its been on my ipod's folk list ever sense. Hes not so much known for creating happy, upbeat songs but rather mellow, borderline depressing melodies paired with his clam and slow vocals. This is actually one of his more cheerful song, which at the end of the day it is still not saying much. However, his [...]

Album artwork by Mr. Clinton Reno MP3: Bookmobile - Weekends of our Youth MP3: Ben Schwabe - Crystal Branches First a little disclosure right upfront- I'm an official part of the Columbus Music Co-op volunteer machine, so this is a project which is near to my heart. Looking beyond my obvious lack of objectivity, I think most of you reading this have some shared interest in the Columbus music community and will appreciate both the efforts and the [...]

Fairy tales are usually the stories we grew up with, and by the perpetuation of disney, we take for granted that they're only meant for kids. Jordan Martin is an individual who knows otherwise, and explored the stories written by the brother's grimm and translated them into an EP filled with beautiful, simple melodies and instruments. my favourite track of his EP, grimm's tales for tiny tots, vol. I , is the slightly melancholic the wolf and seven little kids . Folksy at heart, acoustic guitar and banjo [...]

So a quick one today, kind of a "smash & grab" post as many bloggers refer to when music blogs put up a post with no real content, but with MP3 links. Umm, yeah - so I am kinda doing that, so back off haters. I have 3 separate tracks from different artists, but all worthy of the right kind of attention, as opposed to the publicity stunt in the photo above - I think the actual tragedy is the fact that designs "in yo fade" is still done these days...but, that is another story. Lets get to [...]
