The roll out of sets from HUHWHAT&WHERE's Los Angeles Boiler Room takeover continues today with Juj 's 30-minute live mix. Well, to simply call it a "mix" feels shortsighted, as I'm 99 percent sure he's triggering and playing a majority of the stuff here. It's hard to tell with his laptop in the way, but I know for sure he's adding percussive elements. Anyway, this is as great as I expected and hopefully it will remind y'all to peep his Walnut album. One of my favorite producers these past few years has been Los Angeles' Juj . We might not post him all the time, but there's a good reason for that. Juj's new jam "Fire Pit" isn't exactly an easy listener. The California producer makes sure not to let you get too comfortable while spinning the new single, as the pitch spirals out of control, blended together in a chaotic whirlpool of samples and drum hits. Despite this terribly unappealing description, Juj somehow makes "Fire Pit" an incredibly enjoyable listen. This song will land on Juj's forthcoming project, Walnut, which will be available on HW&W Recordings some time in the near future.
