Her friend and former bandmate in Eric's Trip, Rick White, produced and played a few instruments on this album. We've been fans of Julie Doiron ever since her days fronting the Canadian distorto-pop outfit Eric's Trip, and the acoustic-guitar confessionals that have made up her solo output are at once brutal and beautiful. As worn out as I've been of late, it didn't take too much effort to find the energy to see Shearwater at Lee's Palace Tuesday night.
