On Saturday we made our way to London’s Victoria park for some sunshine fuelled festival fun at Field Day . The lineup for the day was pretty mouth watering and we were excited about seeing a lot of the acts. Kicking it off for us was Seth Troxler who was playing the Bugged Out tent with his usual energetic style, we followed this with Jacques Greene who treated us to some live performances which included ‘Another Girl’ (a personal highlight!) and [...]

by Andrew Sacher Julio Bashmore Bristol, UK house producer Julio Bashmore has released some singles and EPs over the past few years, like "Au Seve," the first release on his own Boardwalk label, and earlier this year he provided the dancefloor-ready beat to Jessie Ware 's "Imagine It Was Us" single (and some of her Devotion LP). He also released a collaborative single with Kowton [...]

This Saturday we’re off to Victoria Park to get our groove on at Field Day London . The one day festival is playing host to a great mix of bands, producers and DJs – it’s the varied music genres and cutting edge acts signed up that really sets this festival apart and has got us super excited. On our hit list of acts we’re dying to see is the brilliant Four Tet , future garage pioneer Koreless , Daniel Avery for some acid house, Jacques Green [...]

The b-side to his own and Julio Bashmore's collaborative track Mirror Song, out Monday (27 May) on the latter's Broadwalk imprint, And What? is Kowton's screwfaced, frowning-bass track, replete with skeletal percussions and a wob to make your stomach lurch. In other news, Bashmore will be embarking on a US tour in August, the details of which you can find below:

JULIO BASHED LESS The darling bass track of the hair-gelled student masses get's a laid back work over by Jamie Hartley and features a few more plinks, lots more plonks and a bit more of the original vocal from You To Me Are Everything. First recorded in 1976 by Northern soul outfit The Real Thing "You To Me Are Everything" was subsequently covered by 902s UK pop disaster Sonia who failed because she's massively ginger.

What's that we can sense round the corner right there? Oh, it's festival season! Just metres away now, and almost within sight, it's that final slog of desk work or revision. Before we know it we'll be hauling on our wellies and novelty onesies and listening to amazing music together in a muddy field somewhere in rural England. This week we've got not one, not two, but three long awaited comebacks - Mariah Carey is back on belting form, Lauryn Hill is as relentless as ever, and oh, a certain band from New York have ditched chinos [...]

There's no HD option on this here video, and that's a good thing, cuz it'd ruin the grainy, weird, old horror film thang they have going on. Kowton and Bashmore's collaborative track Mirror Song, a tingling house roller, gets some creepy Hitchcock-style visuals:

So after Size in the Park , the first EDM event to be hosted at Summer Stage in Central Park, was such as success, there was no doubt that they would be bringing back some sort of dance music themed night for this summer. But boy, I never would've expected a lineup this massive to be coming to Central Park! Last year played host to Steve Angello and members of the Size Matters family, but this year the good folks at Bowery Ballroom [...]
