After staying up yesterday and watching so much football I was seeing double. The Canes continue to develop into a fantastic team (it's all about that U baby!), Iowa held on against the other U of M, Florida State continues to deteriorate, and well Florida played hard enough to get by. In addition to that I crammed a few hours of The President's Cup into the mix. Golf is generally BORING to watch, but when you put the players in a vice grip and compete for points and pride, something happens...golf becomes exciting. Anyway, after all that I [...]
Jump Clubb is an electronic-dance band from Beverly Hills, who has made it their goal NOT to be recognized in the spotlight. They have a pretty fresh sound that can be heard on their new album Love of No Dance that is available now. Their album features Major Lazer, Passion Pit, and more so be sure to give it a listen. Check out their video for their song Rather Be Played above or just listen to the song below: Jump Clubb - I'd Rather Be Played
Jump Clubb calls itself "an anonymous band from Beverly Hills," which sounds really suspicious since nobody from Beverly Hills is anonymous, or evens wants to be. The act — which we hear may involve this electronic artist and member of the Def Jux family — this week released its debut album, "The Love of No Dance," which might be the No Wave of electro if it didn't try so hard to be. Major Lazer, Passion Pit, Wolfmother and Peter Bjorn & John are among the contributors. It is dance-tastic, and the guy — whoever he [...]
Jump Clubb of Beverly Hills produces songs that fall into a category I call in my own mind "Sad Little Disco." Songs in this category are basically electronic and often have dance beats but just aren't exactly in the party mood, you know? Jump Clubb themselves call it "No Dance." It's still very attractive, with lo-fi vocals that are reflective of indie rock floating over the synths. In another reverse from the likes of Lady Gaga, this band chooses to keep the focus on the music and not on themselves. You won't [...]

And for something totally different.... Here's Jump Clubb, a band who insists on remaining anonymous. Huh? Well, given my identity crisis I am no one to cast stones, now am I? So this gimmick is interesting and caught my eye and I gave the song a listen and well, yeah. It's lo-fi, dance, indie disco. How's that strike ya for a Friday? One thing I've noticed about dance music on some blogs and certainly in some of the places I've been, is that there's not enough repetition to really get a groove going. I know that sounds crazy, because that's [...]

Jump Clubb, an anonymous group from Beverly Hills, offer up "A Frozen Hug. Their debut LP The Love Of No Dance is out October 6th. audio: A Frozen Hug video: The Love Of No Dance
"The Love of No Dance" Los Angeles is a big place, so sometimes it's far to keep track of all of the bands here, so it's pretty awesome when we come across a great new band. Even better, Jump Clubb hails from our backyard here in Beverly Hills, concocting a stellar mix of lo-fi indie and straight up dance, ala LCD Soundsystem. For a town that is all about being noticed, these guys would much rather remain anonymous and let the music speak for itself. [mp3]: "A Frozen Hug"
Reading, downloading, listening, deleting and (of course) hoping that some of it will be worth sharing. So it's pretty much business as usual. + Goldcure - I Wanna Hear It Nothing new under the sun here, but sometimes rock music doesn't have to be all that complicated. + Jump Clubb - A Frozen Hug New band from Beverly Hills. It's Friday evening, so I hope it's OK posting a track [...]

Meet Jump Clubb . A band from Beverly Hills whose music combines dance, disco, and electronic styles with indie mentalities and vocals straight from the height of the lo-fi era. The juxtoposition melds an interesting style of music that Jump Clubb has coined "No Dance". On one hand you have the upbeat soul and funk influence that aims at getting anyone and everyone up and dancing. This mixed with lo-fi and low energy vocals which describe tales of heartbreak and Jump Clubb's own view of their insecure and superficial hometown, creates a wonderful [...]

Rainbow Bridge - "Big Wave Rider" ; Welcome to yet another example of why the whole "surf-fi"/"beach-core" scene is one of the fastest growing trends in music. This music is incessantly catchy, no matter how much they try to slow it down or make it into a jam friendly tune, you can still hear the surf punk roots that went into it. This maybe a fad that's getting ready to burn out in the colder weather but we're not ready to bid it adieu just yet. Grade : B+ [...]
