On Friday I had the pleasure to be in the company of many fine musicians at The Purple Sessions in Drogheda. Herm were massively impressive, Pearse McGloughlin brought his amazing debut album to life with a nice little set but the big winner on the night was Nick Carswell sans his 'Elective Orchestra'. Second album from Myles O'Reilly and his Juno Falls revolving collection of supporting musicians finally makes it stateside July 21 as a specially-priced import. Originally released in the U.K. in 2007, Weightless ' ten tracks found the sweet spot of intelligent, chiming Irish pop/folk and landed the band an opening slot with similarly-bred Scottish pop/rockers Travis.
