![[Ones To Watch] – Introducing – Kishi Bashi](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4004713_lg.jpg)
Tweet One of the rewards of being a fan of a particular band, besides their actual music, is that you sometimes get to reap the benefits of the music they're into. In this case it was Sondre Lerche and his uncanny ability to pick remarkably talented show openers. Before attending his summer tour I had never even heard of multi-instrumentalist K. Ishibashi, a.k.a. Kishi Bashi . It's sort of surprising I hadn't heard of Ishibashi sooner, considering [...]
Multi-instrumentalist, Kishi Bashi (of Montreal, Jupiter One) is in the process recording his debut solo album. He posted a preview of the project on his Facebook and Kickstarter page and so far it sounds incredible. He also released an EP earlier this year titled "Room for Dream," which I posted for stream below. Room For Dream - EP by Kishi Bashi Visit his kickstarter page to help promote this wonderful project: http://www.kickstarter.com/pro jects/kishibashi/kishi-bashis- making-a-debut-album

As some of you might know, I was away for a week and I returned to find our inboxes bulging with delicious tunes and awesome new featured content that HB has shared with you all. There was a ton of stuff we were looking to write about but we simply didn't have the time, so to avoid falling behind in providing the absolute freshest in new music, I will make a lump post with all the goings on of last week. indie / funk / pop : [...]
This is an important element of a New Years Eve Party that so many unfortunate souls neglect. Don't let it be this you this year Another Year Has Gone By by Celine Dion - Psych!!! Ha oh man... I wish I could've seen your faces with that one. Curse the non-personal nature of blogging. Ok [...]

This year marks the most fun I've had yet putting together twenty songs to soundtrack your summer. The mix came together organically and joyfully while I did summery things, and the contentment I feel lately in these weeks is embedded in the picks. I declared on January 1 (when I did the Polar Bear Plunge ) that 2010 was going to be a flippin' fantastic year, full of new experiences - and it certainly is living up to the promise. Enjoy these as I have, play them at the BBQs to come, and burn them on CD [...]

H-T-A is lucky enough to be receiving the inside scoop on the Austin shenanigans courtesy of music lover/writer/glutton for chaos Darci Spiker . Be it industry showcase week or weekend summer event, the third day of any music extravaganza is often when fatigue starts to set in. However, with the aid of some big names, social media, and, of [...]

H-T-A is lucky enough to be receiving the inside scoop on the Austin shenanigans courtesy of music lover/writer/glutton for chaos Darci Spiker . Day 1 was a frantic rush from the plane into Texas, so how did a full day for Thursday go off? There's only one way to find out: [...]
![Designer Drugs [Remixes]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2247271_lg.jpg)
Designer Drugs are one of my favourite producers who have the amazing ability to create club remixes so penetrating, you'll go home wanting what you just heard. People thrive off their bass heavy remixes and hypnotic rhythm. To help bring in the new year I tossed in some of the more notable tracks to come across our speakers the last few years. * Canadian tour dates to be aware of this Jan 14-16, 2010 in Kingston, Edmonton, and Winnipeg. More info here. [...]

Regina Spektor and her hand-picked supporting crew of Jupiter One made the final stop of their fall tour right here at the Louisville Palace last Thursday night. Regina, who is quite photogenic if I may say so, requested that no pictures be taken during her set. I was respectful of her wishes, but it did cross my mind more than once to do an artist's rendering depicting the evening's events using some crayons and construction paper. Alas, I could not find any crayons to use. Sorry. The multi-talented Jupiter [...]

Regina, on tour currently with her new album Far , performed her song "Eet" off the same album on The Craig Ferguson Show last night with Jupiter One band members backing her up with violin and cello... beautiful. We caught Jupiter One with Regina recently and will post the review here soon. Regina Spektor - Live at Bull Moose - The Noise
Bright-as-shit indie/electro rockers Jupiter One released their latest record Sunshower back in September to rave reviews pretty much everywhere you could look for one, and they've been on tour dates in support of the disc ever since. Now comes word...
The more I hear, and check out Jupiter One , the more I really dig them. They have such a great sound that blends equal amounts of indie rock and pop. It's no surprise that their latest single, Volcano, from there freshly released album Sunshower , is pure aural delight, check out the song video and be ready to be wowed by the colors of the video as well as the masked creature that is equal parts bird and barney. (Yep, I said it) enjoY!
About a month after dropping their sophomore disc, Sunshower, Brooklyn's own Jupiter One were pegged shortly after the disc's release by Regina Spektor for a US tour. The guys bring their shimmery gem-filled mix of reverb, guitars and shouts to...
Jupiter One pay a visit to Washington, DC next Wednesday (9/30) in support of their new release 'Sunshower' as openers for the wonderful Regina Spektor at Constitution Hall. After speaking to Jupiter One's Zac Colwell this week, I wouldn't be surprised to see the band flipping through the bins of vinyl at any one of the shops advertised over there to the left while they're here... "When I was growing up in South Austin, past the suburbs and before the pastures, my whole world was my parents' record collection. [...]
25 songs today!! That's over twenty bucks worth of free music on MCMB. Make sure you tell your friends on facebook and twitter about MCMB and their free weekend picks each week. WE are headed to "The Producers" at South Bay Musical Theatre on Friday night and Saturday night we will be at the VooDoo Lounge checking out Twilight Sad and Frightened Rabbits. Come by and say hi!1. ARMS - "Kids Aflame"

Well, here is part II as promised. I pared it down from six to five. I am somewhat going "out on a limb" on this one because, quite frankly, I am not very up on these bands. But, when I weeded through the new releases list for this week, these intrigued me. As I said before, I don't have the funds to buy all these albums. So, don't expect to read below a long write-up review on them. And, in some cases, I had to rely on written reviews by others to get a better understanding of the music. This [...]

While gearing up for their highly anticipated release of 'Sunshower' and their 2009 tour with Regina Spektor , Jupiter One has another thing to be excited about. The New York-based quartet currently has the video for their new single "Flaming Arrow" featured on the emerging music website, Indiefeed.com . The free site ranges from alternative-rock, indie pop, dance, electronica, hip hop, and blues, allowing wonderful music discoveries that will leave everyone happy, not to mention its featured iTunes podcast placement. [...]

While this is a less exciting week for new releases, a box set of gems from Big Star certainly helps bring up the average. Elsewhere there's new releases from Grand Archives, The Dodos ( profiled last month ), Muse, a live album from a reunited Shudder to Think, and long lost album from Q-Tip finally sees the light of day. Playlist: New Releases 09.15.09 Big Star - Keep an Eye on the Sky [...]

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I went from terribly busy to terribly sick and back to terribly busy while still terribly sick. I guess the best thing to bring me and the blog back from near-flat line status is some lively music, and the new album (out tomorrow!) from Jupiter One, Sunshower, is a good start. Featuring excellent melodic indie rock, their music is a tonic for the day's ills when the prescription calls for an infusion of uptempo and a dose of synths. Jupiter One is a quartet from New York City that rewrites 80's [...]
