Ratatat is so badass! If you haven't yet seen them live....you are missing out. They throw an incredible show - rocking out with an array of distorted effects and some projected trippy visuals behind them. Crossing my fingers for a new album this year! My favorite thing about Ratatat songs is when various artists get ahold of the tracks and lay down vocals on top of the BEATS! I came across these cutz the other day and figured I'd share the love. Here KiD CuDi and Justin Taylor make these Ratatat songs their own...check [...]

It has been a while but Justin Taylor is back. He has been off working hard to put out this brand new mixtape Questions & Answers . While he has switched his style up a little bit since the last time we heard him Justin has put a lot of passion into his music. The mixtape talks about what has happened throughout the time since his last release, The Prequel . Check it out and enjoy. Justin Taylor- Questions & Answers
Largehearted Lit is a reading series inspired by this blog's Book Notes feature. The April edition of the Largehearted Lit monthly reading is Sunday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m. at WORD in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood. All Of The Answers will appear on Spencer Tuckerman's upcoming collaboration album The Breakfast Club. He samples The XX's VCR and turns it into a slick airy hip-hop song that features Justin Taylor on the vocals. Justin Taylor did magic with The XX once before and does his own on this one too. It does take some warming up but after a couple listens the song is quickly growing on me.

Another post that needed to shared with you is from one of my Go-To blog sites... We All Want Someone To Shout For . Here is a 32 song playlist to help you get through February (?). It might be a tad overdue but there are still some solid tunes in there. Happy listening. February 2011 Mix: ZIP Download (233.1 MB) 1. (More thanks/credit to Camilo Bejarano for his incredible artwork) Some of you guys enjoyed my January Mix so much that you've requested more. I couldn't let you down. So I made you guys another mix for February. I know, I know, it's March 2nd. I've been a bit behind on life, and am still playing catch up. I threw together this mix with my favorite stuff from the past 28 days or so. Some of these you should know, and some of them you may not know. That all doesn't matter. These [...]

Justin is back again and this time he is ready to let loose his next project Questions & Answers. I have to admit I have had the same CD in my car for just around a year, maybe longer and Justin Taylor is one of the artist that has lived in my car for a long long time. This time he brings us Good Morning which gives everyone a good warmup to what Questions & Answers will be. It creates a really ominous and hazy vibe which makes it feel like something I would [...]

As promised, Justin Taylor delivered "Good Morning", the final song off his Questions & Answers Mixtape . It's a hazy song that sees Justin singing/rapping in a Kid Cudi style. The song does create an early morning atmosphere. As the last single, it gives the mixtape good closure. Justin Taylor keeps showing me promise. I think he still has a little way to go until he reaches his full potential, but this is a fine start. [mp3]: Justin Taylor - Good Morning

Justin Taylor first caught my ear with the xx sampling "Good Night Introduction" . He's a promising young rapper that joins Emay as one of my must watch rappers of 2011. It's been some time since that song dropped. It's taken from his upcoming mixtape, Questions & Answer , which you can now hear a part of. The first 4 songs from that mixtape are now available to stream. The fifth and final single, "Good Morning" is coming next week on February 7th. Embedded below is the sampler. Stream the tracks [...]

Check these Ratatat beatssss. First one is super unlike his normal stuff , but it's real chiller. Justin Taylor - Why can't I fly? Shawn Chrystopher - The Hangover - Conrad

Here comes the first song from Justin Taylor's upcoming mixtape Questions & Answers , the follow up to his first mixtape "The Prequel". The song is a remix of the mixtape smash "Gladiators" by B.o.B and J.Cole and features Stevie Styles, another upcoming rapper out of New Jersey. You can also check out the tracklist for his upcoming mixtape right up top. Justin Taylor ft. Stevie Styles- Gladiators Remix | UserShare
"Good Night Introduction" marks the first single and song off of Justin's upcoming mixtape called Questions & Answers. The song is a remix of the instrumental track from the xx's debut self-titled album (a favorite of mine last summer) which has since been featured in commercials. When I first heard the song I knew rappers [...]
Justin Taylor is back. He is gearing up for his next mixtape, Questions and Answers and this is the first track he has liberated for us. He takes the XX's song Intro and does a great job of adding a little rap over it. In the world where people have been sampling the same tracks and doing songs over the same things, it is great to see people who get some good music of other genres and flipping it to their own. Justin Taylor fits best in this type of world/music and it is great to [...]
New Jersey rapper Justin Taylor is a fine young talent. He is gearing up the release of his sophomore mixtape, Questions & Answers . You can check out the mixtapes opening song, "Good Night Introduction, below. He raps over the xx's "intro", and it's...great. I've seen Justin Taylor's name around plenty on underground rap blogs such as It's A Rap Rogo , and it's about time I checked him out. [mp3]: Justin Taylor - Good Night Introduction (Feat. The xx) Bookmark [...]

Justin Taylor jumps on one of the tracks off of B.o.B's newly released album and does a great job. This sounds like it could have been the actual track from the album and these guy's sounds work so well together. Justin Taylor ft. B.o.B & Stevie Styles- Even Higher | UserShare
Justin Taylor..fresh off of his mixtape The Prequel comes to us with this little dandy. I am really feeling the beat, it has that daze vibe that lets you just kick back and fall into the lyrics. Justin Taylor- Preacher Man | UserShare

In case that new Fab mixtape isn't doing it for you, here's something from the opposite end of the spectrum. This is the latest project from Justin Taylor called The Prequel . It's a mix of spacey sing-alongs, hip-hop infused indie rock sounds, and honest verses. Check it out below. Justin Taylor - The Prequel (Full) Related: Justin Taylor - "Closing In On Me"
So the day is finally here. You can read my interview with Justin to gain a little more insight about him but if you don't decide to read it I'll fill you in a little here. He comes into the game creating his own footsteps in those of such artists as Kid Cudi and B.o.B where he can successfully integrate both good singing and good rapping into one collection. After listening to this project I have to say it is hands down enjoyable and something you should be looking forward to. It will be right here on March 6th [...]

Here's a new track off Justin Taylor's upcoming mixtape The Prequel . I've only heard two of his tracks, but so far he's got me hooked. His jam sampling Ratatat was in my head for weeks, and "Closing In On Me" has the same feel to it. It's tough to put in a genre, but I definitely hear an ever-so-slight hint of Cudi in him. Definitely more R&B, but there are similar characteristics. The Prequel drops March 6th, and looks like something to definitely keep your eyes out for. P&P with the find [...]
The Prequel (Trailer) HD from Spencer Tuckerman on Vimeo . Here's an exclusive from Justin Taylor 's upcoming project The Prequel . This is one of my favorite songs from the project and Justin gave me the okay to put it out there. The beat has a cinematic, atmospheric feel to it that compliments Justin's melodic flow and spacey lyrics. To all the fans of Cudi - check this one out, it's definitely floating out there in the same section of space. Justin is one of those artists that thrives outside of the [...]
