Bon Iver sat down with Triple J Radio while in Australia and played a cover of Anais Mitchell 's "Coming Down" . Watching videos of Bon Iver playing live is pretty awesome, and only makes one think about how much more of an incredible experience it would be to actually experience it live. Well, Australians have experienced it quite a lot, with the band's sold-out tour getting rave reviews. Thankfully those of us not down under can still get a little gem out [...]

Anais Mitchell (supporting Bon Iver) in Paris Listen to Justin Vernon and Bon Iver cover Australian singer/songerwriter and friend, Anais Mitchell's song, "Coming Down" from her album, 'Young Man In America' which was just broadcast Live from Sydney Australia's Triple J Radio Bon Iver in Paris

On Further Review by Tom Sweeney I appear to be in something of a run when it comes to Canadian music these days. Hot on the heels of a piece on Winnipeg native Ruth Moody , I'm writing about Ottawan Kathleen Edwards ' latest album, a polished collection of pop songs co-produced with Justin Vernon ( Bon Iver ) [...]
Tweet Watch the video for "Towers" , from Bon Iver 's sophomore effort "Bon Iver, Bon Iver" , out now on Jagjaguwar. Recently named "Best New Artist" at The Grammys, Bon Iver dropped a gorgeous new video for his latest single , "Towers" . Like the video for "Holocene" , it features beautiful scenery and follows its protagonist on his travels, in this case [...]

"Oh yeah, I'm just like Neil Young. Except shittier" Kathleen Edwards self-effacingly confesses as a persistent squeal of feedback delays a perfectly crestfallen Pink Champagne. Although the song itself (containing "shit" she's oft known to have wished she'd kept quiet) may not instil any great urging to pop corks and let the fizz flow, her return to the capital, allegorically, does just that. And as she painstakingly warbles of "thinking the grass could be greener at last", Edwards finally seems to be sprawled out upon the most viridescent riverbank thinkable. [...]

To say that 2011 was a career-defining year for Bon Iver and Justin Vernon would be an understatement. With the success of the band's self-entitled second album, Bon Iver, Bon Iver they earned two Grammy awards, one for Best Alternative Album of the Year and the other for Best New Artist earlier this month. That being said I stumbled across a recent 4AD session featuring Justin Vernon and Sean [...]
Last year Nabil Elderkin directed a curious young lad as he explored the breathtaking landscape of Iceland in Bon Iver's 'Holocene' - today, in 'Towers', the opposite occurs, as an old man carries a gigantic dream-catcher through the woods, ultimately rowing out to sea in a humble boat. "All of these place names have a story, or are an emblem for a feeling or a notion," - Justin Vernon [...]

Bon Iver just premiered the newest video 'Towers' from the self-titled album Bon Iver . Nabil Elderkin was the filmmaker responsible for the epic 'Holocene' video and returned again to direct the video for 'Towers'. "When Justin sent me a breakdown of what certain parts/lines of the song meant to him I did my best to decode it and curate into something simple, and hopefully the viewer can take from it their own feeling of what the towers represent. It was shot up in Washington state, mostly on Indian-preserved land, [...]
When Bon Iver released Bon Iver last spring, we remarked on the "hymnal solemnity and breathtaking harmonies" of "Calgary", a song we'll happily admit to going back to again and again for it's near celestial qualities. The video, directed by Andre Durand and Dan Huiting, captures the song's dreamy sensuality with surreal "baptism by fire" imagery and natural setting the ideal stage for Justin Vernon's glorious falsetto melody. [...]
Rowing towards destiny? The video for Bon Iver's "Towers" is strikingly similar to the "Holocene" clip. There's nature, there's cinematography, and there's white people dressed in rugged clothing out
From the Grammy's to Snl skits and now a new visual, it's been some kind of month for Justin Vernon. Watch the clip for 'Towers' above. Album is available now.

Recently, 4AD and Jagjaguwar collaborated to bring us this live performance of Bon Iver from Lyndurst Hall . This is a 25 minute performance that showcases Justin Vernon's incredible vocals accompanied by Sean Carey, both on grand pianos. The songs have been restructured around the piano renditions and have taken a minimalist approach in their composition that ever more highlight the vocals than previously before. Enjoy. Beth/Rest And A Classic Education recently put out this video from their album [...]

When he's not busy pounding drums for multiple-Grammy-winning Bon Iver, Sean Carey also writes and records his own tunes. Beautiful, lush tunes, under the moniker S. Carey. Since releasing his debut LP, All We Grow, on August 24, 2010, Sean has been quite the busy man. Despite embarking on multiple tours, both in support of All We Grow with the Tallest Man on Earth, and that other little band Sean is involved with – Bon Iver – he still somehow managed to find the time to write a few new tracks. S. [...]

Bon Iver's S. Carey will return on May 8th with a new solo EP, Hoyas , via Jagjaguwar. A collaboration with friend and A.A. Bondy member Ben Lester, the four-track effort was recorded in an attic studio, "using a single laptop and not much else... Some sounds were composed by handcrafted instruments and others by junk. At times, Carey tracked vocals using nothing more than his laptop's internal microphone, and most of the beats and synthesized sounds were sequenced and arranged using stock-software," according to an issued press release. The EP was then mixed and produced by [...]

Watch Grammy winner Bon Iver's , Justin Vernon perform five stripped down tracks during his 4AD Session. 4AD and Jagjaguwar have collaborated on a live session that captures a truly unique Bon Iver performance, featuring Justin Vernon and Sean Carey. On recent tours fans will have become accustomed to seeing Vernon flanked by an eleven-piece band, with the swell in numbers lending a grandiose element to even his most delicate songs. Sidestepping expectations, the idea Vernon presented for this session was to provide a wildly different experience. Recorded in AIR Studio's Lyndurst Hall [...]
There's been a ton of hype surrounding ol' Bonny Bear as of late. Observe his stupendous victory at the Grammys, the ensuing uproar of identity confusion on Twitter , Justin Timberlake's impersonation of him on SNL , and Hipster Runoff's hilariously incessant "exclusive" Bon Iver coverage , and you can fathom some sort of idea of the level this humble cabin dweller has hit. But reluctantly, it's never really been "about the music". The video below is sure to bring things back down to earth. Bon Iver's British and [...]

Sleigh Bells celebrated the release of their new album, Reign of Terror , with an appearance on Saturday Night Live . They performed album tracks Comeback Kid and End of the Line . The true highlight of the pretty great episode hosted by Maya Rudolph, was the suprise appearance of Justin Timberlake as Bon Iver in a sketch revolving around Beyonce and Jay-Z's new baby, Ivy Blue Carter. We have all three videos for you to check out below. [...]
