You might remember that we posted some new tunes from Chicago native kechPhrase two months back when he released "Writing on the Wall" and "Anything" , the latter of which features Big Baby Gandhi , BBU's Epic, and Das Racist's Kool A.D. Well, it turns out that the last of those three hip-hop acts actually runs his own imprint, Veehead, and signed kechPhrase recently. It's a competitive market out there, I think kechPhrase knows that, last week he released his 84 bar flow, this week he's dropping his instrumental tape. We've been talking about the different projects he's had going on: this tape (instrumental), next will be his EP (likely to be hosted by some big whigs ), then later in the year we'll get the album. Here is an interesting development, as Philadelphia rapper-producer kechPhrase has signed to Das Racist 's label and is now dropping a number of tracks to support his case. Here are two contrasting pieces that kech dropped over the past two days, "Anything" and "Writing On The Wall". "Anything" is the harder posse cut, featuring Kool AD of Das Racist, Big Baby Gandhi and Epic of BBU. "Writing On The Wall" on the other hand features kechPhrase slowing things down a bit with emotional lyrics and glum production.
