This little gem came up randomly on my iPod today and I figured it would be nice of me to share it with the lovely readers of this blog. I remember when this song came out a few summers back (a time when Justice, MSTRKRFT and Daft Punk were still the talk of the town). Surrounding its release were a ton of rumors saying that Keedz was secretly Justice in disguise, and this was their new side project, and it was supposed to be top secret blah blah blah. Its not difficult to draw similarities between this track and the Justice single [...]
So apparently that “new” Justice song we posted yesterday was a FAKE and it looks like we are not the only one who were fooled. I’m kinda glad though because it wasn’t that impressive. However, we have heard from a credible source that the video above “Stand on the World” is possibly real and its Justice working under another name. I’m not completely convinced and as you can see by the comments left on YouTube the people are divided. Regardless, it’s a decent track minus all the religious stuff, but its all about the beat anyways. Justice or [...]
Remember when that track came out like a year ago...and everyone thought it was new stuff from Justice? Well that was these guys Keedz , which nobody knows anything about or has heard anything from since. Their myspace isn't really helping me with this either, except it says they are from the states. How dare you try to keep me intrigued. Whatever, I'm over it. It's still a pretty decent track, however preachy it may seem. Save me Jebus. Keedz - Stand on the word

I remember when this track came out, I think it was summer of '08 and there were all these conspiracy theories about Keedz being Justice in disguise etc. There's no question this track was inspired by the French duo's sample heavy dance style but weather or not Gaspard and Xavier are playing one big trick on everyone is inconsequential. The production on this track is so phenomenal that it's a very special joint regardless of who made it. The sample used in this records is an '80s gospel song performed by The Joubert Singers. The original Stand On The Word [...]

OK, so I've been avoiding this post for weeks now... Some misinformed person said it was a Justice single, I'm almost positive it's not. The organ and bass aren't as tight and polished as the usual Justice stuff. Whoever called it a Justice song should listen to Keedz, the mystery band with nearly flawless Justice style production . To be honest I couldn't care less about it being Justice or not, but for the sake of clarification I'll give a few more reasons why I think this track is it's not. For starters, if you listen to the recent Justice [...]

Joubert Singers - Stand on the World (Larry Levan Mix) I'm not sure the true story of the track, there are several different versions. Discogs credits disco remix pioneer Walter Gibbons (and his early 80's religious conversion) with it's discovery. A Youtube clip of the song lists it as released in 1982, as opposed to Discogs 1985 listing for both the original and Tony Humphries remix releases. Also, French electro group Keedz recently released a version of the track that's gotten some play on Annie Mac's BBC show. This is Larry Levan's mix, which I originally [...]

Here are a couple tracks that have been keeping me awake at night...or at least forcing me to listen to them when I wake up. Of Montreal - Nonpareil of Favor -Opening track/pop-glam-freakout from the band's forthcoming, Skeletal Lamping . Sebastien Grainger et les Montagnes - American Names -New solo stuff by the 'idea of a band' from DFA-1979's former drummer/singer. DJ Mehdi - Pocket Piano -Atmospheric piano-based [...]

A couple weeks back, I DJed for a Sugar City show to benefit the opening of a new art space in Buffalo. From beginning to end, the show was a lot of fun. Starting off with a lot of old funk and disco to capping the night off by getting busted up by the cops. You couldn't ask for anything more. However, the police disrupted the peak of the set I was playing. Therefore, I did a one-take of the set and now I'm posting it online. Hope you enjoy it. It runs a bit over an hour so find [...]

The Joubert Singers - Stand On The Word [...]
I haven done a play list for a while, mainly because its kind of time consuming; however I had everything ready and set up, plus I'm on a weeks time off so there is nothing stopping me. This list is basically a recap of older post of the month, as well as some things that I did not blogged but they are part my play list on my car, hope you enjoy it. Black Kids - Making eyes at you Keedz - Stand on the World [...]

From Wasteland to Hopeland. Baba O’Reilly (SebastiAn Remix) - The Who Back To Heaven (edit) - Number One Ensemble I Feel Love - Usha Uthup This is one is very Justice-y but I really like it: Stand On The Word (Distort Remix) - Keedz Then I discovered the original which is amazing! Stand On The Word - Joubert Singers I love blogs.

Sounds a bit like something big from last year. Shameless, but very likable. Keedz - Stand On The Word (video) (mp3) and the original: Joubert Singers - Stand On The Word (mp3)

Eat That! Today is the day guys, get your ears prepared for this bloody bass flood. Ahaha You FOOLS, you don't know what your getting yourself into! Let's get ready to die.

Wow I really haven't heard all that much about this track. I had heard that Daft Punk were back in the studio and recording but can this be real? I mean its been so long! Whether this is genuinely a Daft Punk track or not remains to be seen, but the mystery makes it all the more exciting, particularly when the track is actually really good. Daft Punk (????) - Daft Gang (????) What is certain, is that Busy P did not help in the production of this track (if its real). [...]

lastnightsparty Sorry guys, I've been preparing a new-old series so I haven't really had the time to search around for new tracks. Though I'm not sure when the next post will be, hopefully tomorrow. First track is the Distort remix of Keedz . Actually love this track and it really matches today's theme of 'chill out' slower music. Second track I included is the XXXChange remix of Santogold . One of the slower ones, definitely loving the track. And lastly, the Chateau [...]

There has been a rumor around the "blogosphere" that the track "Stand on the World" by Keedz has something to with Justice. The fact is this track is simply a rip-off of the Justice sound and has nothing to with the band (despite the fact that Justice is listed as the number one friend on Keedz' myspace .) It seems that Universal France is trying to make a D.A.N.C.E 2008 with this track, using the the forumal of choir vocals + slap bass line. The history of this song is actually quite interesting. [...]
