Keith Richards - Life // If you thought your weekend antics put a dent in your longevity, multiply that by 5 decades worth of Rolling Stones rockstar-status-rallying. That is one glorious “ouch”. The enigmatic icon dishes out a no holes barred account of - in no particular order - musical-mastery, Jagger, drugs and debauchery. Richard’s autobiography, to be released October 26th ( pre-order now ), is looking be one hell of a ride..I mean read. - k

Filed under: News With his long-awaited biography, 'Life,' just days away from publication, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has been dropping some tantalising hints of what to expect -- and the book contains more than just Richards' love of the open G tuning. Speaking to AnOtherMan magazine, the guitarist affectionately known as "Keef" has revealed that he frequently carried firearms when copping heroin at the height of his addiction in the 1970s. He said, "The [...]

Ladies and Gentlemen…The Rolling Stones is finally coming to DVD on October 12th. The DVD features Rolling Stones concert footage, shot over four nights in Texas during the Exile on Main Street tour in 1972, which was recently released in cinemas around the country for a one-day, one-time engagement. The DVD also includes previously unreleased rehearsal footage and interviews with Mick Jagger from 1972 and 2010. This is probably the most sought after Rolling Stones concert performance and it has been fully restored and remastered from the original film print [...]

Sheryl Crow is releasing one of the covers on her new album 100 Miles From Memphis . This one was unexpected as it an ode to the Terence Trent D'Arby classic, which seems to be very forgotten these days. Beautiful little number. You know how much we love Sheryl. Filed under: News , New Music , Exclusive Over a nearly 25-year career, the Goo Goo Dolls have met their share of rock stars. With the band still going strong -- their latest album, 'Something for the Rest of Us,' recently debuted at No. 7 on the charts -- frontman Johnny Rzeznik reveals to Spinner that their longevity may be due to the lessons he's learned from some of these celebrity encounters, even if they were less than memorable. Filed under: Around the World It's easy to guess what bonded Keith Richards with the deep-roots Rastafarians of rural Jamaica years ago. Right. The Scottish hymns. Hearing those old tunes must have gone right to his British heart when he started hanging out around the beaches of Ochos Rios. "The old Wesleyan hymns recast as Rastafarian tunes, with 'Jah' substituted for 'God,'" notes reggae historian Roger Steffens . "These are country [...]

Keith Richards’ tribute to his decades-long friendship with legendary ska and reggae singer Justin Hinds has a new chapter. Produced by Brian Jobson, Wingless Angels II (Mindless Records; preorders: August 1, release: September 23, 2010), is a collection of new recordings featuring Hinds’ last sessions before his passing, and a special re-release of the much-sought-after original album, long out of print. "People say 'why don't you give it up?' I don't think they quite understand. I'm not doing it just for the money, or for you. I'm doing it for me." - Keith Richards . Something tells me he'd be doing this no matter what. Coming soon to a bookstore near you...

20. "Wild Horses" (1971, from Sticky Fingers ) Recorded in Muscle Shoals in December of 1969 while on the triumphant U.S. tour that cemented their "greatest rock and roll band in the world" status, "Wild Horses" is a classic Jagger-Richards collaboration, with Keith providing the chorus and riff and Mick providing the verses. It's a perfect pop song, managing to drain the cliche out of a cliche and providing sentiment without ever curdling into the maudlin. The Stones may not be often thought of as making beautiful music, but [...]

Original Wingless Angels release 1997 In 1997 perhaps the most interesting album directly associated with Keith Richards since the mid-70's was released. Wingless Angels was recorded in Jamaica by Richards with vocalist Justin Hinds and a group of fellow rasta from the Ocho Rios area. Richards has spent much time in Jamaica since the early 70's, and early on discovered the magic of the Nyabinghi style of reggae - an especially spiritual, rootsy sound dominated by hand played drums and vocals. (Perhaps the most well known of the Nyabinghi school being [...]
