One of my favorite music blogs Wears The Trousers recently started their own record label, and their first release will be a tribute to legendary folk singer Odetta . As a great fan of Odetta's (I had the privilege of seeing her perform live at Mountain Stage ), I'm so glad that Wears The Trousers showed her due respect by selecting a talented group of contemporary female singers to carry on her grand legacy. The tribute will be released on November 30th and all profits from its sales will be split between two charities [...]

Kelli Ali made one of the albums of the year with Rocking Horse . Every time I listen to the album, I find something new to draw from it. Every time I post about Kelli, it always provokes a lot of comments. So finally, I managed to secure an interview with her. You will see by the indepth replies that she really cares deeply about her music. I hope this interview will give you an insight and a better understanding of Kelli Ali her music. It infuriates me that artists who have huge industry hype [...]
Over the last year or so, I have become increasingly fond of the artists on the roster of One Little Indian Records . Shain from the label kindly took time out to give us a little insight and history of this fiercely independent label. Their list of artists are pretty diverse and eclectic. Personally, I love the work of Kelli Ali and Jesse Malin . I expect Offical Secrets Act to break into the mainstream this year in a big way (feature to follow this week ). In the meantime, here is what Shain [...]

Hi Mark here from the UK. I feel it's been an exciting year musically. I have been privileged to have the inside track as Glasvegas have exploded on the scene, and interviewed Gary Numan amongst many. Most of all it's been a real pleasure to read positive feedback in comments - that means a lot believe me!!! I can't finish the year without a few thank you's so here goes......To Kip for providing me the platform, Sean for his help and support. Neil Ferris, Jon Dunn all at the Press Counsel and Zest PR for Latitude and Mighty Boosh respectively. [...]

We're delighted to hear that Kelli Ali - one-time Sneaker Pimp - has returned from travels which have lasted four years or so and is about to release some new music - a single, What To Do, on November 10th; then an album, Rocking Horse, at the back end of November. From the track we've heard, it's sounding somewhere close to an Eighteenth Century Kate Bush in the mountains.

I'm loving the artists on One Little Indian more and more - maybe it's the onset of winter but this whole album has warmed my heart. Rocking Horse is by one-time Sneaker Pimp Kelli Ali . I have read her description of inspirations behind the record, and I think she perfectly captures the ethos of it all. After all, it's her baby and it's a real departure in terms of sound and outlook. This drops November 24th and I've been giving it a spin for the last month - I'm impressed enough to share it [...]
