Lifelike + Breakbot vs. Kelly . Van She - Kelly (Lifelike Remix) Van She - Kelly (Breakbot Remix)

That's gotta be the coolest gif ever, right? (look down) Anyway, I know I know everyone already posted this remix, but I only recently got to listen to it and I reckon this is by far the best remix made of Kelly , and the best song by Breakbot as well. Heard this remix through Electrorash 's radio show yesterday on Hype.Fm . You should check it out, you don't even need no Dj, you just leave that shit on and people will flock like flys to a old rotting pizzaslice in a box hiding [...]

Yey, it's Friday and the shit's about to roll down the streets. Well, I have some friends over from my hometown and one of them is having a gig at a nightclub here in Helsinki later, could be fun since I've stocked up on brooskies. Not that the gig wouldn't be fun without beer but.. Still, more fun maybe. You know what I mean. And I also noticed that my teacher from school looks like the keyboard player from M83s liveband, and the interest-club is taking notes I'm sure. And also if you haven't noticed, the [...]

Every blue moon there is a collaboration that just makes sense and the music gods rejoice in their meeting of the minds. That is what has happened when Van She decided to release 'Kelly' for the fourth(!) time. It may seem like their beating a dead horse, and they kind of are, but it also means that there are some amazing new remixes for a great old tune. Two of my favorite artists, Breakbot and M83 , get their hands on Kelly and make some sweet sweet lovin' music. Sometimes the party [...]

Less studious day, try [...]

Thanks to Spinner , I have come in contact with Van She music. I was actually nonchalant by the constant repetition of the band in the posts of other blogs, but once I got to listen to their tracks, I was taken. This Aussie electronica group, quite similar to Cut Copy, have made waves the size of buildings in the music world. And I'm never the one to be unattentive (pun intended). Listen to their fun track, Kelly below. Anybody know where to find 'Sunbeams' and the tracklisting to that [...]

Photo grabbed from Bronder's flickr set...thanks! Eddie Vedder Liam Finn August 21, 2008 The Auditorium Theatre Chicago, IL While this review is also late, I am going to blame it on the fact that this show was so incredible that [...]

We totally felt like death in sneakers on Tuesday night, so sorry if these shots came out terribly and how we were only there for like, 2 seconds. We had fun while we were there for sure. Alia and Leah are excellent hosts and excellent human beings. (mp3) Van She - Kelly (Alan Braxe & Fred Falke remix) Godspeed!

I f you've even been a fan of Van She or Van She Tech , you've probably been wondering about or waiting for a recent release from them. It seems like ages since their last album. Their remixes have been peppered throughout the internet and have been met with huge success, and Crystal Castles even took "Sex City" and cut it up for their track "Vanished" . Finally, Van She is ready to release their new album V, which is a combination of the [...]

Yes, Nashville punk foursome Be Your Own Pet are splitting up, according to this message on their website... "To all of our fans, we are sad to bring you the news that our upcoming shows in the UK are going to be our last as a band. We thank you for all your love and support these past few years. It's been a blast, but the time has come for the four of us to go our separate ways." Whatever happened to promising young [...]
I like the Dakota, but not as much as Palazzo Chupi . Hey there. It's been a while. My email is full of random links that I've found. And since Woody loves photos, maybe we'll throw in some of those from recent things, although I'm afraid he's seen them all on facebook. Oh well. I'll be out photographing again this weekend--ND friends be warned. Apparently I'm a really bad wife, at least by 1930's standards, which I think makes me quite the catch. I took an actual weighted test from [...]
Van "the Man" Morrison July 8, 2008 Rosemont Theatre Rosemont, IL After being publicly chastised for my laziness, I decided writing my review was more important than my paying job. I might get an iPhone in 8 years. What is my real job giving me? Exactly. Last Tuesday Dommie and I made the trek to the 'burbs to see Van Morrison. We've watched his Austin City Limits on PBS a few times recently so when we found out about the show [...]

Once again Jody joins the blog to give us a music update from Philly. Jody is our singer-songwriter/folk music expert, too. She actually writes her guest spots, unlike Kelly, Nick and Emily. Someday, right guys? Guest Spot: Jody I live in Philly, yet commute to Delaware every day for school. As a student, I am way too cheap for either an iTrip or satellite radio, so I rely heavily on [...]
So with Stein blowing through town yesterday, you'd expect a heat wave with all the hot air she's blowing... not to be I guess. We have a baby blizzard going on outside. Thanks alot you blowhard. So I didn't post on Thursday and in the interest of not advocating time travel, I thought I'd post a song of teh weekend! Actually, a few. I've been meaning to put these up for some time, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It's a gargantuan task posting 3 songs and videos OMFGGGGGGG. I want to be funny and [...]

Kelly Llorenna started her music career in 1992 as a member of the dance act N-Trance, lending her vocals to "Set You Free" which originally was not a success. Following several re-releases, the song stormed the UK charts in January 1995. That same year, Kelly launched her solo career with the song "Brighter Day" which was just shy of reaching the UK top 40. In 1997, she returned to N-Trance for their cover version of the Rod Stewart hit "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" which stormed the UK top 10. She would continue to sing [...]
Yay music! --- I've been obsessed with this song for a while, and I'm only getting around to posting it now. Stars of Track and Field are a band from Oregon who are named after the best Belle & Sebastian song ever and do lovely dreamy shoegazey pop. My favorite song? " Movies of Antarctica ." I hope you like [...]
